Update: I just tried the spicy katsu sando and loved it. Also, the pork belly rice bowl was nice. The carrots are pickled and it compliments the tender pork, glazed in its own sauce.
Original post: I got the egg sando and loved the fluffy bread and eggs. They grill the inside of the bread with butter which gives it a little bit more flavor. Apparently, some people have said the egg sando is not seasoned enough, but I prefer it to be on the natural side. The chips were pretty seasoned, though. Overall,it was a good and I'll try the katsu sandos next.

East to locate, nice, welcoming and courteous staff that explains the various items on menu. There are 3 main seating areas outside a few tables,in the counter area over looking the kitchen and a big room in the back that is nicely decorated.
Shared a 9 sandwich combo was delicious

The shrimp sando was genuinely one of the best things I have ever eaten in my entire life. The fried rice (not pictured) was also incredible. I will be dreaming of this place when I go back to AZ.

Was the first person in line at opening, ordered 1 katsu sandwich w/ chips and fried rice. Waited 30+ minutes to get my order and watched multiple people get theirs before me. Maybe wouldβve been worth it if the food was good, food was mid at best. Disappointing experience especially with the hype around this place.

The gyu sando was good but egg sando was ok.
As former Japan residents, we were especially excited to try the sandos. They were definitely good, don't get me wrong, but they didn't quite transport us back to Japan. The bread wasn't as soft and fluffy as what we remember there.
That said, we loved the atmosphere, and the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They also had a high chair available, which made it easy to dine with our baby.
Our favorites were the Spicy Katsu Sando and the rice bowl, the pork was incredibly tender and flavorful. We'd probably skip the egg sandwich next time, unless you're ordering for little ones. Our daughter liked it!
Overall, a great spot with a fun vibe, friendly service, and tasty food. Loved the slideshow of Japan pics on the tv π₯Ί

My daughter just celebrated her 18th birthday today at GYU, and we had a great time! The venue is so beautiful and picturesque! our guests loved the food and even asked for more!

If coming just for sandwiches, the chips are a must. They are fresh and tasty and provide a nice textural contrast to the soft and chewiness of the sandwiches.
I just wish they had house water to offer you. If you want water, they only have bottled.
$16 sandwich very good tipped them. Asked for cup of water and they said no. Forced me to buy bottle. They have a restaurant attached with cups of water. How does a sandwich place not have water cups?

Egg 0 not worth it. Just tastes salty and no umami at all.
Chicken Sando: 8/10.
The bread is really good but I donβt think this place compares to Katsu Sando (Los Angeles).
This place in door and out side seating. My first sando and in love with it.
