This spot is so far from my house but it was worth the 25min drive. It was soooo good. I got the turkey wings dinner with 3 sides and my husband got the liver and onions dinner. Each side is really big. Let's talk about the Mac and cheese, it was my favorite! It was seasoned and cheesy! He loved the liver and onions- oh yeah , they have chitterlings! They serve them al a carte, so it was $60 for a large. The greens were fire !! I've never tasted bomb black eyed peas- they were better than my moms shhhh. Service was fast and the team working were super friendly. The music was popping and the place was clean 10/5 stars because it was BOMB !

We had tickets to Cirque du Soleil KA, which was starting in about 1 hour. So when we walked in, we asked if she could have us finished eating within 30 min. No problem! We ordered catfish and smothered turkey legs. She give us some fried okra & cornbread to tie us over until our meal was ready. In 10 min, from the time we walked in, we were eating. Everything we ordered was very good and hot. We got a hugh portion of peach cobbler to go, and we were in the car, pulling away in 25 min total time. It was a great experience to be taken care of, and we really appreciated the great service and good food!
Unprofessional and and to say the least the worst hospitality I’ve ever experienced. I placed an order via DoorDash. Now note they don’t have DoorDash pick up food they self courier the orders. This is where the issues begin. I ordered a jerk chicken plate. ETA was 55 mins per DoorDash I was fair considering a smaller business may be busy I have them 3 hours to deliver. Now I called at 1hr and 50 mins to get an update not to complain just a casual update on a 40$ meal I just ordered. The first ring gets answered I say one sentence… “hello good evening I placed a order via DoorDash and contact info request I contact store for updates” this man says something in broken English and hangs up in my face. I call back from 2 other #s the forward my call. I send a text message and they simply ignored it for over a hour. There’s no excuse for that type of customer service small business or not and that in itself made me cancel the order 3 hours later. I then decide when I have time I’m going to go into the place and see if maybe I’m over reacting… let me tell you. No hospitality skills, no communication skills and leave it to me a huge rip off. Don’t sign up for delivers you can’t manage or customers you don’t genuinely care to satisfy. Coming and seeing them not busy was disgusting I didn’t even care to say anything because hanging up in my face multiple times and not replying to customers spending their hard earned money isn’t even deserving of a opportunity to explain themselves. Please remove your restaurant from DoorDash it’s many customers also NEVER received their food after ordering and waiting hours.

The food has a lot of soul! Portion sizes are generous. Yesterday, we got a plate to sample. This sample led to us going back today for individual plates. The issue was Soul Food Cafe advertises breakfast, but doesn't serve breakfast. The windows of Soul Food Cafe advertise breakfast and salads. I'm pescatarian and was looking forward to what was advertised. My feelings and stomach were hurt and disappointed. Please fix/remove this advertisement.My husband and I shared a plate. He ate fried pork chops, Mac and cheese, yams, black eyed peas and corn Bread pancakes. I ate some of the vegetables.

Less than desirable settings, priced too high for the quality and quantity. Cups cost, water is bottled only and cost too much, greens had no flavor, plastic spoons, forks and knives. Red snapper was smelly. Had to drink out of a can of soda since cups of ice cost! But the worst was the cook was unclean at least his black t-shirt had debris all over it. Wore gloves and handled food, cash register and money all at the same moment. Never saw any handwashing. Regular cashier was nice. Tried this place a few years ago and not much has changed. Won't return sad to say. Trying to support a Soul Food business again!

I had a pick up from them at restaurant depot for an order. I was there for over a hour to check out there items. finally delivered to soul food cafe and they didn't tip me for the whole order . cheap place and owners

4.9. I ordered takeout but picked it up. Ambiance was homey..homely...like family pictures when you visit your moms house. The service is above par (especially for a more fast food type of restaurant). And now the food. The 4.9 comes because the sweet potatoes needed to cook longer but; The smothered chicken, the catfish, the wings, macaroni (although Im not a Mac n cheese fan) black-eyed peas, red beans and rice, and cornbread pancakes. What a unique idea these cornbread pancakes. I don't like cornbread but I like these. I'm reminded of my grandmothers cooking when I eat here and thats the highest compliment I can give. Highly recommend for AUTHENTIC soul food.
