The Yummy Crab is a seafood restaurant that has recently undergone some changes. While it still serves fresh and high-quality seafood, the overall dining experience has been a mixed bag for customers. The restaurant is known for its signature dishes, such as the fried haddock and snow crab boils, which have been praised for their delicious taste. However, some customers have noted that the sauces, particularly the butter-based ones, can be quite greasy, which may be an issue for those sensitive to such flavors.
Despite the positive aspects of the food, the dining experience at The Yummy Crab has been criticized for its lack of attention to detail. Customers have mentioned the use of paper dishes and plastic utensils, which can detract from the overall experience, especially given the price points. The service has also been described as lacking, with waitstaff not consistently checking on customers or providing necessary items.
The reviews mention that the owners are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a Filipino-inspired seafood boil that customers have enjoyed. The atmosphere is described as having a lively stage and band area that could be fun after dark. However, some customers have noted that the restaurant's location in a Walmart shopping area may not be the ideal setting for this type of dining experience.
Overall, The Yummy Crab seems to be navigating a period of change, with both positive and negative aspects to the customer experience. While the food can still be enjoyable for some, the restaurant may need to focus on improving the dining experience to meet the expectations of its customers.
