“Came in specifically to try the fufu and egusi soup, my daughter has been telling me she wanted to try this forever. Looking for options open later in the evening led me to Nigerian Food LV and I am very glad it did. I ordered the Fufu and Chicken Egusi Soup and a side of Jollof Rice, which was huuuge! Price was good in my opinion, totaling just over $30 w/ tax for the meal which fed 2 easily and could have fed 3.
Everything is very flavorful and delicious, one thing for sure is to make sure you do not overestimate your spice tolerance. I ordered our food at a 2/10 spice and it was spicy but delicious. I was told that most American palates wouldn’t be able to handle a 5/10 and I believe it. The jollof rice was moist and delicious, tons of flavor, and a huge portion. The fufu & egusi was just as delicious. My daughter didn’t hesitate at all, and after I tried some I understood why. The fufu has a nice soft texture but held up firm and didn’t get soggy when eating with the egusi. The chicken egusi was loaded with flavor and the chicken was juicy and delicious.
We live in the High Desert in California and there aren’t really any spots to try authentic close by and after trying this I’ll definitely be coming back to try again. The owner David was so polite and informative, helped explain the menu and even had me try the jollof rice prior to leaving just to make sure the spice level was ok. He also gave me a Vita Malt to try, which kind of reminded me of a craft root beer but not as sweet.
The restaurant has good seating to accommodate different group sizes, and the tv had music videos playing to give off the good vibes. Next time I’ll be dining in and enjoying the music and decor while I’m eating some more fufu & egusi.
All in all I am very satisfied with my visit to Nigerian Food LV and will be looking forward to trying it again in the near future. Best of luck to David and NFLV, 10/10 will try again.
*Also sorry I didn’t get a pic of the jollof rice, it was a massive serving though, like enough to fill up a styrofoam to-go tray.“

“A very good experience !! It was our first time trying out West African, specifically Senegal, cuisine and this location was a great place to try it out. The staff were incredibly understanding and friendly. They patiently walked us through the menu and answered our questions. They made us feel like they were excited to share their culture with us! Once we made our orders and the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The presentation alone was great and the taste was even better. It was a very good experience and a definite recommend to those looking to try some delicious Senegal food!!“
