Favorite chicken katsu curry place! This location remains consistent with quality on food. It has become my comfort food since the first day! The service is fast. The waitresses are attentive. They serve the plates as soon as their ready. Food is always served hot and cooked to perfection. The chicken is crunchy on the outside with tender meat in the middle. Do not let the exterior deter you away.

At Curry Zen, the food feels like comforting home cooking — just like something a mom would make. The Japanese curry is very authentic, and you can choose both the spice level and portion size.
The freshly fried pork cutlet is tender inside with a crispy, fragrant coating. The pork-and-beef mixed meatloaf is juicy and flavorful as well.

Great service and food. You can order different spice levels for the curry and also different meat options. I ordered 0 spice and still had some good heat to it.

If anyone is going to try Japanese curry for the first time. I would recommend no other place than Zen Curry house that serves in my opinion, authentic Japanese style curry.
No matter what time of year, no matter what day of the week I find myself at this restaurant. The quality of the food and the taste always remains at its most high. I would like the owner(s) of the restaurant and its employees to know how proud they should be of the food they serve and my deepest gratitude for it.
From the unsuspecting and seemingly old Plaza that the restaurant resides in. Please do not let that deter you from setting foot inside this restaurant .
The moment you walk in the staff are swift to greet you and seat you. And even if there is a wait, I can assure you, the food is worth it. If you were in the greater Las Vegas area and I’ve never tried Japanese curry. I highly recommend stopping by here for your first time. I promise you won’t regret it.

I walked into Zen Japanese Curry House after a long, exhausting day—the kind that leaves your shoulders heavy and your mind foggy. The moment I stepped inside, the rich scent of curry and freshly cooked rice wrapped around me like a warm blanket. Behind the counter stood Josh, the server with an easy smile that instantly made the place feel more welcoming. He greeted me like an old friend, joking that the rainy weather outside was “perfect curry weather.” When I told him it was my first time there, he lit up and started describing the menu with genuine enthusiasm, recommending his favorite—katsu curry with extra sauce—and promising it would turn my whole day around.
When the food came out, Josh placed the steaming bowl in front of me and said with a grin, “Made sure the sauce was just right for you.” The first bite stopped me in my tracks—it was everything he said it would be: rich, comforting, and somehow exactly what I needed. Josh checked in a few minutes later, not just to ask if the food was good, but to see how I was doing. That small moment of care hit deeper than I expected. By the time I left, full and smiling for the first time all day, I realized that Josh hadn’t just served me a meal—he’d given me a reason to breathe a little easier.

Ordered a large pork katsu curry on brown rice, spice lvl 7.
Pork was good, tender, juicy, crispy. Curry sauce was great, 7 was spot-on for what I wanted/expected. Curious to know what “10+” would be like..
I usually eat quite a bit, but the large was big enough that I felt it was a good idea to stop and take some saucy rice home. If you’re debating portion size, would say regular is *probably* enough.
We slipped in at just the right moment - the larger groups who showed up a few minutes after us wound up waiting for about a half hour at ~9pm on a Friday night, so plan accordingly..

Authentic Japanese style curry dishes!! I love the daily fresh made curry with generous portions and different selections of rice - so much chicken in their chicken tender curry!! I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it’s still solid. Reasonably priced for so much food $37.40 before tip!
