Great specials, as advertised. Steak prepared perfectly. Waiter, Hunter, and bus boy, Moose, were awesome, BUT the time to get the meals was atricious, over 30 minutes for each course! Atmosphere appeared good on admission, BUT tables too close! We were seated next to a table of 6 drunks, loud for 2 hours, totally spoiled our experience. Not going back until table arrangement improves.

Waited over 2 hrs for our food everyone’s food was over cooked to the point one returned hers. I ordered jumbo shrimp differently not jumbo shrimp and it was very chewy. One who never complains said toughest NY steak he’s ever had. We were compensated for a free appetizer plate and one steak but after all that time we just took our food home. No free desert for 63rd anniversary we were there for. Too bad we have been there before and the experience was nothing like this. Maybe bad night don’t know.

I have never had a bad meal here. I love the sunset dinner menu from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This is a 3 course meal for only 29.99 in the steak house. I would make reservations.

We went to a steakhouse and had salmon and pork, but both were great. We also made it in time for the Sunset Special, look into it, really good value. $11.50 Martini, $8.00 Buillitt old fashioned also hard to beat. Staff from the bartender to the servers were friendly, efficient but not hovering.

Great place for a good steak and seafood. Appetizers were tasty and a good price. The service was great and a lot of attention to the customer for a large party being served. Highly recommended.

Came here for their $29 Sunset special menu and was surprised with how generous their portion are. We only ordered 2 sets for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and we only managed to finish the grilled top sirloin. Still have 1 out of the 3 pork medallion (good but wasn't as special as expected), half of twice baked potato (wish the skin is crispier) and half of au gratin potato. We're so full that we had to have the dessert to go (make sure to ask for utensils). Service was really slow though. Food only came out 40min after we ordered. I even had time to check in for my room first and order fried chicken at Katie's next door for only $8.99! I'd probably stick with Katie next time since they're cheaper and faster.

THe early dinner deal that run from 4:30 pm to 5:30 Pm is a killer deal. Yes, just for 1 hr, you get a house salad, entree and dessert for just $29! The entrees vatry from salmon, pork medallions, to beef stroganoff. Menu is posted on line. My fave are the pork medallions, so tender and tasty. The chocolate mousse is the best dessert, sooo smooth! Service is good and the bread is fantastic. I like that the butter is soft already for spreading. worth 5 stars for the price.

If you need 1 good adjective to describe the food and service, "mediocre" is that word!

Took 2 hours to have dinner for 6 people. 2 fish over cooked. 1 plate was cold. Dessert took more than a half hour to get after we ordered them! Our joke was they were growing the hay to feed the cow to get some cream for ice cream and whipped cream. Their idea of a veg was 3 to 4 spears of asparagus. (Why bother then, eh?) Their house dressing for the wilted salad, serviced on an un-chilled plate, was some type of 1000 island, I guess. Kinda looked they tossed leftover ketchup and mayo into a bowl and mixed it.

This is the 4th time I've been here for dinner since they opened it 15+ years ago. I'd never go back again if I could help it. The only reason why I went was for a friend's birthday, but next time I'll inform her that I'm busy that night.

BTW, if you want a better steak, go down to J.T.'s, you'll get better food and better service!

CV Steak is part of the Carson Valley Inn Casino. It's nice inside if you can sit in the back and not have to look at the bright slot machines. The service was prompt and friendly. The dinners were delicious! The Gilled Jumbo Shrimp was wonderful! A very nice experience!

CV Steak delivers exceptional quality at fair prices. The lobster far exceeded expectations, oyster quality was high, and the single source beef produced outstanding results.
