Bad Internet and customer service. Stay away
I don't think this location is correct. Take a look at the street view.
Anyway... their internet itself is very good, but when you need customer support for any reason (and you will!) may God help you. Their customer service is absolutely dreadful. Basically, the outside line got accidentally cut by a neighbor's landscaper and they are saying (via chat bot, there's nobody you can call) it'll be a week before they can get out here to fix it. Even Cox would get out there within a day or two. I wish I had the time and space to type out everything that happened.
We're canceling our service and going to Starlink. See ya!!
The worst company ever! Embarrassing! Pathetic!
It took forever to make an appointment to send out a technician to my house because the agent on the phone didn't seem to understand simple terms when I was explaining what was wrong with my phone! The agent was clearly not local and was not fluent in English.
Finally an appointment was made. The day of the appointment they sent me a text saying they were on their way in a certain time window. The time window came and went! And the technician DID NOT SHOW UP!!!! It was FUTILE to try to get a hold of them after that to ask what the happened?!
I was so upset I decided to DUMP Century Link and called COX! I now have an IP phone in my house! They came over the next day after I called them and set up a new phone! Night and day service!
Guess what? A whole week later I'm at work and get a text message saying that a Century Link technician was on the way!!! What--? Huh--? I never set up a new appointment!!!! There was zero communication from this company! No explanation, apology, or acknowledgement that they even MISSED the initial appointment! They just did not come! They did not care! They did not follow up! NOTHING!
And then they decided to just make another appointment without letting me know! Absolutely incredible!
The technician showed up at my house (I saw him on the cameras) and I wasn't home! I hope he wasted his time!
Go to COX! Go anywhere else, but stay away from Century Link!
Install went well. Excited for long term review update.
Too much to explain. Didn't show up for install, said I missed the appointment. Got hung up on multiple times trying to cancel service.
After 2 scheduled this service to be shut off 2 times and they continued to charge us. Now in our third time being charged, they tell us that they will charge us our send us to collections. $ 180 for a service that was removed from our rental 2 months ago.
Too slow for the money
The worst service I’ve ever paid for. The internet constantly goes out. On 4 different occasions the techs would not come out to fix the internet outage for 6 days. Do not use centurylink you will regret it.
I canceled WiFi on 6/22/24 and I over paid by $54 and I still have not received my over payment check that apparently was mailed to me. Every time I call, I get the runaround from employees with heavy accents! This company shouldn’t be in business. They can take your money, but won’t return it if you overpay. Glad I switched to Cox! I’m reporting this to Consumer Affairs!
I did a lot of research with Cox vs. CenturyLink and ultimately chose CL. I set my install for the closest date which was just over 2 weeks away. The customer support team, who all had thick accents, tried very hard to upsell me to a TV service which I said I would not use at all.
Install day comes around and the installer showed up. He tried for about 10 minutes to run cable from the road to my house but said it was impossible and he would have to get a specialist out here and I could face a large install bill. I said ok no problem - let's do it, but then he just left. I called the customer support team who said my install order was completely canceled. I confirmed it with 2 different people. They said I could reschedule - the next nearest date was over 3 weeks away. I told them that was inappropriate - they should correct their error and schedule me sooner. They gave me the option of calling back every day to see if there were cancelations I could slide into, but could do nothing for sure sooner than the 3+ weeks. I then told them I was going to use Cox and they said "ok, bye".
2 days later a CL installer showed up (no appointment) and investigated the wiring situation. He said there was bad info in the CL system - the record showed my house would be on a direct line to service, something like 200 feet of cable, but in reality my house was wired into a CL loop of over 8,000 ft of cable which would give me no more than 20 MBPS. He said CL never should have sold me the 140 MBPS service. I then explained the situation to him and he said Cox was the right choice.
All in all, except for the 1 friendly and competent installer, CenturyLink was a disaster with bad customer support who tried to sell me un-usable service.
