2-D Wok

Sad news for me tonight. 2-D wok is closed. My family loved going to this restaurant. The pork belly, chilli wantons, and pickled cucumbers were always a must. The sign says they had a death in the family and had to return to Taiwan. It also says they might open up at another location in the future.

Relative to other places in southern CA I'm not so sure this is even a 4-star place but after being in Reno for a little bit, this is definitely worthy of a 5 star rating if you want Taiwanese cuisine. There just aren't a lot of options elsewhere and for what they do, it's good enough. We were there on a weekday evening and almost no one else was in the restaurant with us. We got our food pretty quick and the service was great!

I dont understand why every time I go in here there are only two or three other tables. Maybe it's the time of day I go? The food here is fantasic. I have always been happy eating here. They have kind of a mix of other Asian cuisines all in one. Japanese curry with the pork cutlet is delightful. The spicy dumplings look like they are doused in fiery red chili oil but they have a really nice balanced and fresh feeling to eating them.
