“I visited Madein for the first time after reading about them in Edible Reno-Tahoe magazine, and I’m so glad I finally stopped in!

I went for lunch and tried their 2 for $20 special, choosing the chilled celery soup and the Alpine sandwich. Both were delicious and full of flavor. My only suggestion for next time would be to ask them not to toast the focaccia. It was a little too hard to bite into, but aside from that, the sandwich was excellent.

I also had the chance to try one of their meatballs with their house-made marinara sauce, and it was delicious. One of the things I really enjoyed about Madein is that almost everything on the menu is made in-house, with some ingredients sourced fresh from local producers. You can really taste the care that goes into the food.

The service was wonderful as well. My server, Seirra, was very friendly and attentive. The owner, Shawn, was kind enough to come by and say hello and even walked me through some of the dinner specials. I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Marsha, who works there and was equally warm and welcoming.

Overall, I had a great first experience at Madein and would definitely come back to try more of the menu—especially dinner!”

“Was at the Atlantis for a conference and heard good things about the bistro. Our table was feeling adventurous and we asked our server Bryan to surprise us for our meal. Bryan and the staff were great sports, selecting a wonderful mix of cocktails, appetizers, and entrees, all specially prepared to allow everyone to share family style. I would tell you my favorite but I can't actually choose. Add to that, it was very reasonably priced considering the quality and experience. 10/10, will definitely be going back next time I am in town.”

“I previously visited this restaurant at their old location with my daughter and had an amazing experience — the food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. Because of that, I was excited to try their new, larger location for happy hour with a friend. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing this time. When we arrived, we both stood at the entrance for several minutes while multiple staff members looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us or explain whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Eventually someone directed us to a table. We ordered wine and everything seemed fine at first, but our server quickly became unavailable and never checked back in. When our food was delivered by another employee, it was dropped off without utensils or napkins. Happy hour ended at 5:00, and instead of checking on us before then, our server returned afterwards and told us happy hour was over and brought new menus. After finishing our food, we sat with empty glasses and dirty plates while multiple staff walked by without clearing the table or checking on us. After about 10 minutes of waiting with no service, we ended up walking to the bar to pay our bill because no one ever brought it to the table. This was frustrating, especially for a restaurant that presents itself as a higher-end dining experience. I know they’re capable of better based on my previous visit, so hopefully the service improves.”

Love Games was a good margarita riff. Great melon on the nose, hint of spice.
Fogg & Vivian was one our favorites. Great balance and smoothness.
El Flaco was a nice horchata cocktail.
Kamino was a true tropical drink. Very good.
Cenzoni was my least favorite. Gave a nice wine forward vibe though if you’re into that.”

“went here for the 1st time and it was pretty good. Only complaint some of the sauces they try to be cute with them and it ruins it. like Siracha in the Tartar Sauce for their fish and chips. I will never get that because of that. They put Tabasco in their Thousand Island that is stupid. But nice atmosphere good service and you can play Trivia that was fun. I had the pastrami it was good but I wanted regular Thousand island for it so that sucked. next time burger or Meatball Sandwhich”

“This is a very nice resteraunt in the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada. My lady and I were looking for some lunch and decided to try the Purple Parrot. My lady had the Western Burger and I decided on the Super Burrito. As you can see from photos there meals were loaded. The burger came with potato salad, onion rings and more. The burrito came with rice and refried beans and more.
I highly recommend the Purple Parrot to friends and family.”

“We landed here on a recommendation from an hotel we stayed in nearby, so we came by to eat some food and watch the raiders game. I didn't eat too much since I was up drinking super late last night.

The energy here was awesome while watching the game and the food was delicious. The blackened chicken sandwich was delicious and the beer battered fries were good too. The service was amazing and they have two pool tabels available. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying around this area with either larger families or couples.”

“I have always loved this place. Until today. I came in and got a broccoli n cheddar bread bowl. The ratio was OBVIOUSLY messed up, as the cheese was chunky n not mixed well with the cream like it is normally. And then I had ordered a bowl of the crawfish gumbo. Not a single piece of crawfish in the entire bowl. Not to mention standard gumbo has anduoille sausage. The sausage that was in it was some store bought "Johnson stuffs" This place has gone down hill so quickly. I am extremely disappointed, and will never be back again. Save your $'s. they charge too much and are not giving out the same quality as they once did.”

“Every time I come to (or through) Reno, stopping at Taco Shop is a MUST. Every taco here is amazing. The best, of course is the Cheeseburger taco - which I know sounds odd, but until you try it, you have no idea what you're missing. The pastor is a close second, super juicy with just a lil heat, it is perfection. But you won't find a thing on the menu that isn't incredible. I just wish it wasn't 400+ miles from my home, haha.”

“This is pretty much our favorite place to go in Reno. We love the Cajun Chicken sandwich or a burger for lunch. Always hard to decide between the homemade french fries or chips, however the Italian dressing for the salad choice is always delicious. We love the chicken noodle soup and the beef vegetable soup (I may have those names slightly off). In the evenings, we love the prime rib. The warmed sour dough bread is delicious, so is the side of beans. Prime rib is always perfectly cooked as ordered. Huge ice teas are always on point and refilled quickly. Staff is so friendly. Even during construction, we can easily find a space to park out front, in the back or on the side.”

I frequent Vegas often and I would rather spend a weekend at Peppermill and hang out in the sportsbook and tables in Reno. As for food, it’s above average. The deli in the sportsbook is great. The Chinese place Chi is solid as is the steakhouse Bimini. Only place I don’t recommend is the Mexican place near the check in/out counter.”

“PHO 999 is simply amazing! One of the things that stands out every time we visit is just how incredibly efficient the entire restaurant is.

As soon as you open the door, someone is already waiting to greet you. You simply let them know how many people are in your party, and you're seated almost immediately. Water arrives at the table as soon as you sit down, and within seconds, someone is there asking if you're ready to order.

The efficiency of this place is seriously impressive. If you already know what you want, you can easily be seated, enjoy a great bowl of pho, and be back out the door in about 20 minutes. Despite how fast everything moves, we've never felt rushed—the service is simply that organized and attentive.

We're definitely Asian-food seekers. We travel quite a bit, and wherever we go, we somehow always end up searching for great Asian food. Pho in particular has become something of a specialty for us, so we've eaten it at a lot of different places.

PHO 999 continues to be one of those places we genuinely look forward to visiting. Great pho, incredibly fast and attentive service, and an operation that runs like clockwork. It's easy to see why we keep coming back!”

“My wife & I love this restaurant. Their location at Longley & McCarran is ideal for all of South Reno, and a nice, really short drive for the residents of Hidden Valley and Donner Springs. The staff is super friendly, and the wait for your meal is truly minimal. Best thing is the food quality and generous pours. 2nd best thing is their “no rush” philosophy, so you don’t feel rushed to eat at all. Plus they have ample space for larger groups. This is a great restaurant, and everyone should take advantage of the location and experience.”

There was a little bit of a wait (not long at all) because they were busy. She apologized three times. When she handed me my food, she included a small cup (pup-cup) of whipped cream for my "bad" barking dogs. It was unexpected and really made my day! The food was good too. I will be going back.”

Plus, you can buy meat and fries BY THE POUND and save big time! We loved the fact that we could sit outside and wait with the dog since he comes with us everywhere on our days off. The latest great change was in the kids menu, now they have pictures of the meals and I think that was an excellent idea to get the little ones to eat better.”

Had a big hearty breakfast before we had to leave the beauty of the western end of America and come back to south carolina!! Stop in for food here when you can, very good place to eat!!”
