“Cute place, wonderful staff, they let us try their house blend delicious! Come and check it out and help small businesses thrive!!“
“We discovered this little coffee shop while spending a week on vacation in Reno. The flavored lattes are coffee forward, with just a hint of sweetness and flavoring. Enough to intrigue but not to cover up the coffee. I tried lavender, hazelnut, cans raspberry and was never disappointed. My husband went for the Mexican hot chocolate and pronounced it delicious.“

“I cannot recommend this place enough! I’ve been to just about every coffee shop in Reno/sparks and this is the best place. After living in both Italy and Spain throughout college, coffee back home wasn’t quite cutting it. But HCC never misses! Their sugar and spice latte is the BEST! The owners are so friendly and the baristas are excited to see us come in each weekend. I bring all my friends here and they have loved it too. There’s plenty of seating, good music and it’s decorated nicely. Really the best way to sum it up is that the owners know what small business in Reno is all about, no matter how big this city is getting. Genuine, hard working, kind and personable owners. We love HCC!“

“Teas you didn't know existed are there, so if you are a tea lover, or just looking for a different experience, it is the place to be
The service is always friendly and prompt. They are always knowledgeable and passionate about their product. It's fun and refreshing to have a tea house rather than a coffee house. There is a wide variety of CAFFEINATED and HERBAL (no caffeine) tea leaves, and tea blends and types of tea drinks, just like at a coffee house . Dairy and ALTERNATIVE MILKS are all available.
They have some refrigerated macro Foods sandwiches and desserts, which is a nice alternative... I haven't found any I can have- because even though many of them are GLUTEN FREE none of them are dairy free or KOSHER. They also have a selection of normal delicious pastries that friends who don't eat healthy or have allergens can go eat and enjoy.
They have a small inside place to sit, converse, and even play a small game. There is a second, small, area that is tented. And there is an open, outside area with chairs and shade trees. Unfortunately I didn't say there last time because someone stood there and smoked cigarette after cigarette and my lungs cannot take that.
The atmosphere is clean and both identifiable as a coffee shop type place even though it's a tea shop and unique as Too Soul Tea. the inside seats are and the noise is not too loud but neither is it super quiet. But there's no blenders going off or blaring music or TVs.
There are a few little Artisan jewelry and similar items for sale.
You'll notice the address is a one half because it is a building in the middle of a parking lot surrounded by other buildings. There's plenty of room between them and there is dedicated parking and there is a BATHROOM.
But you can't see it from the street. So you have to just trust when Google tells you to pull into the parking lot.
It's a small building, so there's nothing dedicated to wheelchair accessibility. But you probably could go if it's not too large of one. Like, on one of my wheelchair days, or if I had a friend in a wheelchair, I could probably take them there. Especially to sit outside with tea or use the bathroom. And it's a level door to get into. It's nice that there's no sidewalks or long way to go all the way around the building looking for the wheelchair entrance. Which is very nice. ( My husband likes to pop wheelie for those times and it makes me feel not fun ?) But neither does it scream wheelchair accessibility. Because it could be a little tight inside. So on that count you're probably going to have to judge for yourself.
All in all it's a place I like to go and take people. And even have a mini date with my spouse.
I put some things in caps for those people who are needing to just skim really fast for what they need.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free and non-gluten-free options. They have dairy-free options in the drinks but not the food. I didn't see anything that said kosher and I did see some things that are not.
Wheelchair accessibility: I already posted this part. Google. The inside counterpart is tight, so if you have a regular size wheelchair you're probably okay. If you have one of those big huge motorized ones for paraplegics, then you may want to use the entrance to the patio and sit outside with your friends. The bathroom inside is large enough to be in a wheelchair or even to have someone help you if you need it. But again, it's a tiny building so there's not a lot they can do... The space between the counters may be plenty and it may not, so you'll have to check that one out for yourself. I think that you could pull a wheelchair up to one of the inside tables but I'm just not going to say that overly strongly... It is nice that because it's a smal“

“Im a certified coffee crackhead and this is one of the best cafes I've ever been too. Not only was the coffee having me feeling high on life. But the ambience of this amazing shop was so cool and calming. Even if i didn't have an extreme coffee addiction this would still be my go to coffee cafe. I mean you just can't beat the coffee or the logo“

“Wonderful coffee in a serene outdoor space (4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact) I almost missed the Coffeebar Roastery but I’m glad I doubled back to find it. It’s really on the lane with no name that runs between Haskell and S. Virginia – if you’re walking along Haskell there's a space where 1030 should be and Coffeebar is behind that plot. There’s lots of seating outside their red-brick building, including several small tables with lovely mosaic tiles, a large table for 6, and a sofa under a canopy. This seating area, which is well secluded from traffic, combined with Coffeebar’s great music selection make this a very chill spot to forget your Covid woes. And their coffee is great too! The friendly Barista introduced me to a few coffees – both natural processed (the entire coffee cherry is dried before the bean is separated from the pulp) which saves on water and often makes the coffee more fruity and delicious. I decided to risk over-caffeinating and have both of them: the Costa Rica Finca Lucerito as a Gibraltar and the Ethiopian Naia Bombe as a pour-over. This was my first ever Gibraltar – made with Oatly oat milk and a sprinkle of sugar on top – and it was so delicious! The Ethiopian coffee was so lacking in bitterness that I was able to drink it without milk or sugar (which is rare for me). They also do flights – either different beans in the same format (e.g., espresso) or the same beans in multiple formats (Gibraltar and espresso) so it’s a good spot for a coffee education. Prices were reasonable considering the high quality – it was $7 total for the Gibraltar and the pour-over. I’m also giving Coffeebar 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact for the following reasons: • Coffeebar have a direct trade relationship with coffee farmers. The benefits of this vary by coffee farm – it may be a better price for the farmer and/or more sustainable farming practices. • For example, the Costa Rica Finca Lucerito comes through collaboration with Sustainable Management Services (SMS) in Costa Rica. SMS do agricultural research in Central America to increase sustainability (e.g., improved fertilization techniques and coffee varieties that are more resistant to disease). • Having said that, Coffeebar don’t provide a lot of detail, compared to some other roasters (e.g., Temple Coffee in Davis strives for transparency in actual prices paid to farmers). Even on the blog posts dedicated to each coffee variety, there’s often a lack of useful information. For example, their Thai coffee is grown in Doi Inthanon National Park but there’s no discussion on the environmental impact of the farm (e.g., shade cover, which is often lacking in Asian coffee farms). There’s a decent blog post by David Wilson on why Coffeebar wants to move beyond coffee that’s certified (e.g., organic) but in order to do that they need to raise the bar on their communication – seriously! Otherwise, how do we tell them apart from roasters that are only paying lip-service to their social and environmental impact? • I like that they provided glasses and mugs for having coffee in-house when so many have abandoned them (for no good reason) during lockdown. • For disposable cups, Coffeebar are partnering with reCUP which make cups that are designed to be recyclable. The cups are generally not compostable as they still contain a plastic liner (just less plastic than normal). • There’s a 75 cent charge for alternative milk listed on the menu – that’s a fairly steep penalty for choosing plant-based milk. Having said that, I wasn’t charged extra for having Oatly in my Gibraltar :) • Their coffee-bean packages are pretty (and award-winning) but it’s a pity they’re not compostable (e.g., like Counter Culture Coffee) • On their website you can find info on their suppliers for food ingredients (listed under Partners) including some familiar good names like Central Milling organic flour and Petaluma Creamery grass-fed butter.“

“Coffee N’ Comics is truly my happy place. One of my favorite weekend activities is to go for breakfast with my family and sip coffee for hours while playing my favorite TCG. I highly recommend their cold brew and iced lattes. The breakfast bowl tastes great and the portion size is huge. I’m also thrilled that they sell Lorcana (both sealed and singles) at such great prices. As an admitted “Disney Adult” and gamer, I feel seen. I love this place and look forward to coming back again and again and again!“

“This place boasts a fantastic atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff around. The seating is cozy and limited, but that's all part of the charm—it ensures that customers come in, savor their coffee, and enjoy the moment without turning it into a makeshift office. It's a spot where conversations flow and the coffee experience truly shines!“

“been here 3 times - fun, funky place - food (and service/the folks) 5+ stars - but have to comment on my last visit - i always get the shirred eggs (maybe with a side like the stuffed french toast - so yum!) anyway - had the shirred eggs and again ... no leeks (per their menu description - love leeks and would be heavenly to have them with the eggs! )..but... real bummer this time... the yolks were cooked hard - supposed to be runny! hard yolks a no-no with shirred eggs! anyway... i pointed this out to the manager/owner when i paid the bill - got a surly "i'll let him (chef) know" - wow, ok, great - thanks?“

“My wife and I we're given a gift of making and distilling our own special gin from our daughter. We went in on yesterday, Sunday and met Marin. She is the most amazing historian, biologist, and chemical wizard when it comes to gin ! We had the most fun, and departed with a pair of bottles of individual gin concoctions under Marin's watchful eye. (We also purchases gin candles, cinnamon bitters, and Ferino's delicious house. What a great day. Thank you Marin, for the education, entertainment and memories. We'll be back!“

“My boyfriend would never in his life order an almond milk latte. But our barista asked if almond milk was okay as the default. He hesitantly responded that was fine… I knew at that moment that I’d be drinking his latte. Hah!
Boy I was wrong.. my boyfriend LOVED HIS DRINK and kept insisting I try it (despite being full from breakfast). He’s not wrong!! This is one of the best lattes we’ve had in awhile. Great quality and well made! Still can’t believe my boyfriend actually likes it. Mind blown so I guess that’s a testament of how good this place is. So good!“
“It won’t let me press the do not recommend button. In the shop it smells like cats and cat litter and there are roaches. I told the employees there are live roaches next to my table and they said ok they’ll take care of it then never did so we walked out immediately.“
