“I cannot recommend this place enough! I’ve been to just about every coffee shop in Reno/sparks and this is the best place. After living in both Italy and Spain throughout college, coffee back home wasn’t quite cutting it. But HCC never misses! Their sugar and spice latte is the BEST! The owners are so friendly and the baristas are excited to see us come in each weekend. I bring all my friends here and they have loved it too. There’s plenty of seating, good music and it’s decorated nicely. Really the best way to sum it up is that the owners know what small business in Reno is all about, no matter how big this city is getting. Genuine, hard working, kind and personable owners. We love HCC!“

“Had a lovely dinner with my fiancé. The menu was outstanding! The mushroom soup was creamy, warm, and with earthy undertones. Meanwhile the Caesar was bursting with flavor, and the octopus salad kept things vibrant, citrus and crunchy fresh! The pasta dishes (lasagna and ravioli) were definitely hand made and with balanced flavors. Ending with the olive oil cake was the cherry on top. Each dish created was a master piece in its own right!“
“I really love The Orange Cat Coffee. The coffee is thoughtfully sourced, smooth, and full of flavor, and you can feel the care that goes into every detail. It’s more than just coffee — it feels personal, welcoming, and made with heart. Highly recommend if you appreciate quality and warmth.“

“We were visiting Reno for a week and this became one of our favorite local places. The young women that work there have such kind, positive energy. The tea was outstanding. My son and I stopped by 4 of the 7 days we were in town.“

“Wonderful coffee in a serene outdoor space (4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact) I almost missed the Coffeebar Roastery but I’m glad I doubled back to find it. It’s really on the lane with no name that runs between Haskell and S. Virginia – if you’re walking along Haskell there's a space where 1030 should be and Coffeebar is behind that plot. There’s lots of seating outside their red-brick building, including several small tables with lovely mosaic tiles, a large table for 6, and a sofa under a canopy. This seating area, which is well secluded from traffic, combined with Coffeebar’s great music selection make this a very chill spot to forget your Covid woes. And their coffee is great too! The friendly Barista introduced me to a few coffees – both natural processed (the entire coffee cherry is dried before the bean is separated from the pulp) which saves on water and often makes the coffee more fruity and delicious. I decided to risk over-caffeinating and have both of them: the Costa Rica Finca Lucerito as a Gibraltar and the Ethiopian Naia Bombe as a pour-over. This was my first ever Gibraltar – made with Oatly oat milk and a sprinkle of sugar on top – and it was so delicious! The Ethiopian coffee was so lacking in bitterness that I was able to drink it without milk or sugar (which is rare for me). They also do flights – either different beans in the same format (e.g., espresso) or the same beans in multiple formats (Gibraltar and espresso) so it’s a good spot for a coffee education. Prices were reasonable considering the high quality – it was $7 total for the Gibraltar and the pour-over. I’m also giving Coffeebar 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact for the following reasons: • Coffeebar have a direct trade relationship with coffee farmers. The benefits of this vary by coffee farm – it may be a better price for the farmer and/or more sustainable farming practices. • For example, the Costa Rica Finca Lucerito comes through collaboration with Sustainable Management Services (SMS) in Costa Rica. SMS do agricultural research in Central America to increase sustainability (e.g., improved fertilization techniques and coffee varieties that are more resistant to disease). • Having said that, Coffeebar don’t provide a lot of detail, compared to some other roasters (e.g., Temple Coffee in Davis strives for transparency in actual prices paid to farmers). Even on the blog posts dedicated to each coffee variety, there’s often a lack of useful information. For example, their Thai coffee is grown in Doi Inthanon National Park but there’s no discussion on the environmental impact of the farm (e.g., shade cover, which is often lacking in Asian coffee farms). There’s a decent blog post by David Wilson on why Coffeebar wants to move beyond coffee that’s certified (e.g., organic) but in order to do that they need to raise the bar on their communication – seriously! Otherwise, how do we tell them apart from roasters that are only paying lip-service to their social and environmental impact? • I like that they provided glasses and mugs for having coffee in-house when so many have abandoned them (for no good reason) during lockdown. • For disposable cups, Coffeebar are partnering with reCUP which make cups that are designed to be recyclable. The cups are generally not compostable as they still contain a plastic liner (just less plastic than normal). • There’s a 75 cent charge for alternative milk listed on the menu – that’s a fairly steep penalty for choosing plant-based milk. Having said that, I wasn’t charged extra for having Oatly in my Gibraltar :) • Their coffee-bean packages are pretty (and award-winning) but it’s a pity they’re not compostable (e.g., like Counter Culture Coffee) • On their website you can find info on their suppliers for food ingredients (listed under Partners) including some familiar good names like Central Milling organic flour and Petaluma Creamery grass-fed butter.“

“Have you ever wanted a personalized drip coffee? Go to Bibo and get one of their pourovers. Ask the brewmaster a bit about the different grind options. I didn’t have the gelato, but it looked delicious with a large selection. Seating is limited and the atmosphere is sparse but the music was great.“

“I had a business meeting here with an associate and the customer service was fantastic! The worker was pleasant and bubbly and made sure we were taken care of, and had great recommendations for us - My associate was raving about their lavender drink for a week afterwards. I’m not a generally tea or coffee drinker and they were very accommodating and accepting and didn’t pressure me about this or make any faces which is usually people’s response when I share that information. They had a very wide selection of drink options for customers to choose from. A very unique atmosphere, and super cute decor!“

“UPDATE - so this review is long, but super informative, bare with me. So the next day I was there & one of my favorite girls (please forgive me I'm really bad with names but always remember faces) happened to be at the window so i could ask her what happen. She is always so wonderful and explained the policy has always been this way, BUT has not been strictly enforced because of 3 reasons, 1) being I'm a daily regular they mostly all know me & who i am so they hold my drinks for me 99% of the time, 2) when they're crazy super busy they dont have the room to save/hold it in the fridge for me, and 3) she showed me & explained they're order system on the screen clears the order waiting once its been an hour so they have to go into the order history to find the order that was cleared. With that being said, I love my Sky Vista Dutch WU/OA staff, they are always so great to me every time i come, especially all of them that know me LOVE THEM they're amazing. I feel this situation was a helpful, clarifying, learning moment for all of us. Mind you I'm old enough to be these kids mom and have spent over 25yrs working in the customer service related industry so i know how hard it can be on the recieving side and i try my best to be kind & calm, but I'm human too & get stressed and frustrated like anyone. HOWEVER, i want to recognize the way the two girls i know (i wish i knew their names) that know me have handle the only 2 situations I've had here, their customer service skills are top tier. They maintained being kind, calm, polite, helpful, & informative in a stressful situation with a disappointed customer - chef's kiss 😘
Ok, so i have been a daily customer at this location since its opened. A lot of the regular walk-up window employees already know me, my regular order, and my face. I am usually happy with this location and have had almost no bad experiences, other than a couple other times. I placed an order ahead as i do every single day. However, soni dont yave to wait for my drink to be made, hence the order ahead, i order 20 minutes or more before im going to go get it. 9 out of 10 times i have ordered ahead at any location and go straight there the drink isn't even made yet, defeats the purpose of order ahead, and thats every location ive used in Nevada or other states. With that being said, i don't arrive to pick up my order until 20 minutes later or even longer if something happens and i cant make it right away. I have picked up orders as late as 2hrs later. Today a young man at the pick-up window told my husband at 9:51 they dumped my drinks, that the ready pick up time ready was 8:47am, which we know was not made and ready at that time on a busy Saturday morning the day before Easter as it is. Then told my husband its a new corporate policy rule no holding drinks after an hour for quality control and food safety etc. Which seems funny to me considering i am there every single day and no one has said anything to me, and i always come 20 minutes or later to pick up my drink, intentionally so i dont have to wait and my drink is ready when i get there because I'm always in a hurry & a rush. And when i do get there to get my order they just get it out of the fridge next to the window for me so its still cold still fresh, and not a food safety quality hazard etc. I'd like to know from management if this statement he told my husband is true, and if it is, when did it go into affect because i have been doing this at every dutch location in washoe county for over a year, and at this location since it opened, as I said I buy my dutch drinks every day. Other than today, i love this location and always have since its opened and all the staff there. They have always been so great, even the time my order got mixed up with another girl with the same name.“

“My boyfriend would never in his life order an almond milk latte. But our barista asked if almond milk was okay as the default. He hesitantly responded that was fine… I knew at that moment that I’d be drinking his latte. Hah!
Boy I was wrong.. my boyfriend LOVED HIS DRINK and kept insisting I try it (despite being full from breakfast). He’s not wrong!! This is one of the best lattes we’ve had in awhile. Great quality and well made! Still can’t believe my boyfriend actually likes it. Mind blown so I guess that’s a testament of how good this place is. So good!“

“It won’t let me press the do not recommend button. In the shop it smells like cats and cat litter and there are roaches. I told the employees there are live roaches next to my table and they said ok they’ll take care of it then never did so we walked out immediately.“

“This is the nicest Starbucks I’ve ever been to! Everything about it was pleasant. The people were all friendly, and said “welcome in!” to every single person that walked through the door. The person taking my order suggested I try my drink a in a new way, which I loved! And I got my food and drink on an actual plate and in a glass mug! I wish they were all like this!!“
“Had a small group of friends for my wifes birthday to take the Gin school. One of the best experience we have ever booked in Reno. We learned about gin Had a few gin drinks and then we were able to create our own Gin flavor and have a bottle to take home. All in all worth every penny. An everyone thinking its expensive the cost includes about 6 cocktails (if you wait for you gin to be stilled) and a bottle of your own flavor gin that you create. The staff is great. The bartenders are amazing. A definit must do when in Reno“
“The most delicious matcha latter this morning from DÉJÀ BREW plus she helped shovel my car out when it got stuck in the snow, made my day!“

“I really love this coffee shop. It has a great view and real cups! I buy cookies downstairs and enjoy them with my coffee.
I'm happy to hear that No City Coffee will be opening back up on the weekends. I made it a habit of walking over from Trinity Cathedral.
