“Black Rock Wine Co absolutely nails that rare balance between elevated and approachable. From the moment you walk in, the space sets the tone with a modern industrial design, warm wood accents, soft lighting, and an open, airy layout that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. The long tables lined with bottles feel almost like a curated gallery, and the garage-style doors let in natural light that makes the whole place feel alive without being loud or overwhelming.
What really stands out is how intentional everything feels, especially the wine list. It is handwritten on a large chalkboard, which gives it a relaxed, neighborhood vibe, but the selection is thoughtful and globally inspired. You will find a mix of Old World staples and boutique producers alongside well-chosen California options. The list includes everything from crisp Picpoul and Bordeaux Blanc blends to approachable Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with more unique offerings like Loire Valley blends and Spanish varietals that show they are not just playing it safe.
The pricing is another highlight. Most glasses land in the $9 to $15 range, which feels more than fair for the quality. They even offer a carafe option, about two and a half glasses, which is perfect for sharing and encourages you to settle in and enjoy the experience rather than rush through it.
The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a wine bar. It is relaxed, conversational, and effortlessly refined. It is the kind of place where you can catch up with friends, go on a date, or simply unwind and end up staying longer than you planned.
What truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Kate McCune. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely warm in her approach. She made thoughtful recommendations, checked in at the right moments, and created an experience that felt personal rather than transactional. It is clear she cares about what she does, and it made a great environment feel even better.
Black Rock Wine Co is not trying too hard, and that is exactly why it works. It is curated, welcoming, and just the right level of elevated. We will absolutely be back.“
“Atlas Landing is a great place to meet up with friends. The wine list is great and the employees are super friendly.“
“Absolutely unreal service… I left… very satisfied.
I stopped by this lounge before catching my flight, and let me tell you - Kyah does NOT play around when it comes to taking care of me.
The way she handled everything? Smooth. Confident. Completely in control. Top energy the entire time. I was honestly shocked at how quickly she figured out exactly what I wanted and delivered it perfectly.
By the end, I was sitting there thinking, “Wow… I did NOT expect to be taken care of like that before a flight.”
I walked out feeling relaxed, recharged, and low-key a little weak in the knees - all from the service alone.
The staff is really, really good at what they do.
There might be wine and food here too but not sure.“

“I previously visited this restaurant at their old location with my daughter and had an amazing experience — the food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. Because of that, I was excited to try their new, larger location for happy hour with a friend. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing this time. When we arrived, we both stood at the entrance for several minutes while multiple staff members looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us or explain whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Eventually someone directed us to a table. We ordered wine and everything seemed fine at first, but our server quickly became unavailable and never checked back in. When our food was delivered by another employee, it was dropped off without utensils or napkins. Happy hour ended at 5:00, and instead of checking on us before then, our server returned afterwards and told us happy hour was over and brought new menus. After finishing our food, we sat with empty glasses and dirty plates while multiple staff walked by without clearing the table or checking on us. After about 10 minutes of waiting with no service, we ended up walking to the bar to pay our bill because no one ever brought it to the table. This was frustrating, especially for a restaurant that presents itself as a higher-end dining experience. I know they’re capable of better based on my previous visit, so hopefully the service improves.“

“I don't really venture out much anymore but had decided while being in Reno to try this establishment because of the reviews. Let me just say they were not wrong. The wine choices were excellent and the food was just as good especially the crab cakes! Everything was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was very laid back. I met Amanda and Chef David as well as others there who very much welcoming. I'll end by saying if you're looking for a place to go and you're a long way from home, like I was from Ohio, don't hesitate to go here. You'll be glad you did and you'll probably end up going back!“

“If you appreciate a massive selection and a great atmosphere, Beer NV is the place to be. They have about 100 taps on rotation, so whether you’re into a niche local craft or a heavy-hitting import, they’ve got you covered.
As someone who runs a local business, I really appreciate how well-maintained this spot is. The tap system is clearly kept in top shape—every pour tastes fresh, which is a detail many places overlook. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and can help you navigate the huge menu without breaking a sweat. It’s the perfect spot to kick back after a long day on the job.
Pro-tip: Since they don't have a kitchen, you can bring in your own food from the nearby restaurants. Grab some local eats, pull up a chair, and enjoy the best tap list in Northern Nevada!
Would you like me to adjust the tone to be a bit more casual, or perhaps add a mention of a specific type of beer you usually go for?“

“Whispering Vine is my local go-to for wine tastings and purchases. Their tasting flights are always interesting, and their one glass 8oz pours are very fairly priced. They also offer great prices on weekly specials and some great wine tasting educational events. Cheers to Brian and crew at both locations.“

“The location is unassuming, with tables open to the second floor meeting rooms, but don’t let the casual layout fool you. The inner area is well-appointed and service staff polished. The menu is diverse and plating lovely. The cotton candy and breakfast bar parting gifts are thoughtful and delicious. A worthy stop.“

“Where do I start! From the hostess who sat us, to the server, the general manager, the cook, the lady who brought us our food and of course LORI. I am appreciative of everyone. This is a true show of how an amazing steakhouse should run. You can see that everyone is truly working in harmony to give the best experience every time. I loved my ENTIRE meal from appetizer to dessert. Such an amazing and memorable experience. Have been to multiple steakhouses in Reno Casinos ( Atlantis, j resort, legends) this by far is the best. Thank you!“

“Went for dinner with friends while staying in Reno. Highly recommend. We were greeted immediately upon entering and made to feel at home. The staff was attentive throughout the night and knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations. The cocktail menu was interesting without being over the top and the cocktails were good! There were several creative choices for small plates and you could just make it a small plates and cocktails night if you wanted. The entree menu is limited, but they also offer specials and the smaller menu means they can focus on quality. Definitely worth a visit!“

“Mixed bag.
The coffee drinks were great.
The bacon was top tier.
The rest of the meal missed the mark.
I asked for crispy potatoes and they were not. The country fried steak and eggs were bland. I get the idea of a lowest common denominator when spicing food in a restaurant but this goes too far.“
