“What a great evening! We were celebrating a birthday so they put us in the private dining room. The atmosphere was perfect for enjoying a family birthday dinner for 8. Our server (whose name I can't remember, shame on me) was fantastic and went above and beyond; so was everyone else who took care of our table. We've been to La Strada a number of times but never with 8 people. It was a memorable dinner in great atmosphere. Thank you to everyone!“

“Did not care for the food. It pasta was overcooked and over spiced. The atmosphere was great but you can't eat the atmosphere. The server was in a big rush to remove an ornamental plate before all guests in the party were present. Will never return“

“We had a large group of 12. Some of the food was great, some ok, but on dish was returned - the pork chop. It was over cooked and the sauce was burnt. It was returned and another dish was not ordered. We waited almost 2 hours for our main corse. Seated at 7, dove at 10. When we got the bill, they charged us for the pork chop. We asked for it to be taken off the bill and the owner said no. I and many of the 12 would never patronize this restaurant again. For the price of one meal, she just lost multiple customers. Own up when the cooking is not up to par. In addition, we could not dive the tab up with multiple credit cards.“

“Wow! First time eating here. The service was amazing. Thank you Justin for accommodating our late arrival. The music was awesome. The food was incredibly yummy. The chef added a special right before we ordered, which we had: chicken philly sandwich, with homemade chips. We also had the mushroom ravioli and the meatball sandwich. We will definitely be back.

Parking: The restaurant is in a strip mall. There is plenty of parking during the weekday.“

“What a lovely evening! Arrived on time for our reservation and we're greeted by name. We where sat by the window and had a great view of the hills. Ordered the antipasto bread tray for 2, the olives and artichokes are so good. I ordered the special which was a lasagna. The sauce is definitely flavor full and seasoned perfectly. Nothing like a glass of red wine to pair with this dish.
The owner Louis came out to see how our meal was. Everything was fabulous! Go to Johnny's and enjoy!“

“I absolutely love this restaurant. They have the best food in town aside from Nona's kitchen and the service is amazing too. They are always kind and go the extra mile to make everyone comfortable.“

“Came for dinner with a group of friends. We were sat on the side patio a little before sunset. There were supposed to be lights that automatically turn on at dusk, but for some reason didn't, so the end of our meal was mostly dark. Thankfully staff brought some lamps to have on our table. Service was very good throughout dinner.

Overall the food was very good, and the portions were just right. The Ceasar was good, though could have used a little more dressing as it was a little dry. An offer of fresh cracked pepper would have been appreciated, but I was able to use some preground that was on the table. My wife ordered the ribeye and it was cooked, as she asked, to the perfect rare temperature. The carbonara was made well.

I'd been wanting to come here for a while and finally did, and I was every bit as happy and impressed as I thought I would be. I'll definitely be returning to try some other dishes I was eyeing.“

“I had the gluten free Fettuccine Alfredo and was delighted. I don't think this is an option anywhere else in Reno/Sparks. My husband had chicken parm, which he said was also delicious. One day later I am not sick. The servers were lovely and helpful. The only other gluten free option was lasagna. I will try that next time. This is an authentic Italian restaurant, so the flavors are different from Americanized versions.

“My friends from Reno took me here for my first time to this restaurant that's their go to place. Staff knows them by name and I can see why they go there often. Their food looked great and my lamb chops were good and reasonably priced. (Check out what lamb chops cost in the supermarket). Check it out. You will not be disappointed.“

“We came during the daytime. Initially, we intended to go to Mimi's Cafe, but it was literally a ghost town, so we walked out of there and headed towards Chillis, but Chillis is undergoing repairs due to a fire so that was closed. We saw Macaroni Grill was close by. My wife and I hadn't eaten there since we were teenagers, and we were reluctantly like oh well, I guess we'll go try it out.

To our pleasant surprise, the interior was absolutely wonderful and there were many patrons there enjoying their meals. The service, from the way we were greeted and seated, to how polite, professional, and personable our waitress was, was refreshing.

Having had sour experiences with the service industry in general in Reno/Sparks, we were overjoyed by the experience we were having. When the appetizer arrived (stuffed mushrooms), we knew we were going to be in for a treat with the entrees, and we were. I had a lighter fare (less than 600 calories for the plate) and it was very tasty, not salty, just seasoned just right. All of the plates were exceptional, highlighting the great care that had gone into them (my wife had a shrimp pasta, and my son had the truffle mac n cheese, I can't pronounce what I had, but they were pasta dumplings with cheese and tomato sauce).

All in all, I couldn't believe how good Macaroni Grill was. All these years I had avoided it over Olive Garden, but it's in a league of its own. I much prefer it to the other Italian restaurants in Reno.“
