“We came here for our anniversary about 10 minutes before closing, and we were fully expecting to be told the kitchen was closing. Instead, Ulysses welcomed us with a smile, let us sit down, and never once made us feel rushed.

He was the only waiter working all of the tables, yet he still managed to be incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. Even though he was clearly very busy, he took the time to check on us, chat with us, and even apologized for not being able to give us more attention—which honestly wasn’t necessary because he was doing an amazing job. At the end of our meal, he even surprised us with a dessert for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch.

The food was also excellent. The fish was incredibly fresh, the portions were generous with lots of fish and just the right amount of rice, and it was all prepared right in front of us. The sushi chefs were also very friendly.

We left having had a wonderful experience, and a big part of that was because of Ulysses. Outstanding customer service like his deserves to be recognized. We’ll definitely be back!“

“I began my sushi journey at the OG Sushi Pier over 20 years ago. Instantly developed amazing friendships with their staff. Always knew me by not just my name but my “nickname” lol. Always amazing food, chefs are always willing to make alterations to requests (add this, subtract that, make it spicier). Whenever my OG Reno friends come into town and want to go to sushi, they always request the OG Sushi Pier! I’ve eaten my fair share of sushi, all over the country, and can hands down say OG Sushi Pier consistently is amazing! All this talk of the OGSP got me wanting, you guessed it, the OG Sushi Pier!“

The atmosphere is so comfortable and welcoming, and the restaurant is always clean and pleasant. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the sushi rolls are amazing and always delicious.
What I appreciate most about Kuma is how the servers genuinely make you feel welcome. At some all-you-can-eat sushi places, you get the feeling that they don't want you to order too much. But at Kuma, it's the exact opposite. They are always happy to serve you, they bring food out quickly, and they never make you feel uncomfortable no matter how many rolls you order.
Great food, great service, a clean restaurant, and wonderful staff. Kuma has earned my loyalty, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves sushi.

They exceeded our expectations by a longshot. Without asking, they brought out delicious samples for us to try for next time.

When we couldn’t finish our plates the owner personally wraps it all up and separates the noodles from the broth! Who does that for their guest, anymore??

“We went there for my sons 18th birthday. The food was great, the service was great and so was the entertainment. It was a wonderful experience that we do yearly or multiple times in a year. Everything was great until we received the tab. The fact that there is now a mandatory gratuity no mater how big the party is, I feel is wrong on so many levels. Because of the mandatory gratuity you cost your servers, staff and cooks more money. I understand having when with larger parties but we had 5 of us and the people next to us was only 2. I would suggest changing this or you will have others that will find other places to go. Other then that everything was great.“

“for cheap sushi, their sushi is really good! this was a hit amongst my coworkers when i worked at the mall (i never asked but i don’t think they give mall employee discounts). their spicy california rolls are so good, i recommend this place if you want your sushi fix but you happen to be at the mall. they also have some asian snacks and soda cans to buy.“

The guy gave me two huge scoops of crab, plus mango and pineapple — such big pieces, it’s crazy. Heard good things and they didn’t disappoint. Fish was fresh and good quality. Enjoyed all items: Tuna, Salmon, Unagi, Inari, Peppered Tuna, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Polar bear hand roll (my favorite new sushi), tempura mix, seaweed and cucumber salads. “Oceano is such a great place. It serves quality sushi, seafood, and steak. All the food we had was seasoned very well and tasted fantastic. Quality control was on point even when it was busy. Service is good the waiters are nice. The only con to the restaurant is that because it’s so delicious and fantastic it gets busy. If you want to eat here you’ll need to make a reservation or plan to wait for a table.“

In this post co vid era, Reno( 24 town) NV hasn't been the same.
But there's a Boba and a hand roll waiting for you till 2am. Don't get caught up in the Chinese offerings, be Bold be Courageous, slam some culture in your mouth.“

“I've dined here twice. The first time was a mixture of sushi and a couple of the Chinese entrees. Was okay but not overly impressed. Did the AYCE Sushi this last visit. Like the Peppermill and Atlantis, it's pricier than the other places in town ($44 vs $34) but the 20% off local's discount if you signed up for the rewards club evens it up.

AYCE Selection is about 75% the choices you'd normally get (similar to Peppermill). No Unagi, Scallop, Snapper, or Albacore Nigiri, but strangely one of the best things I had was a spicey scallop handroll. Size of the cuts of the fish on the Nigiri are arguably the largest in Reno and top quality for AYCE.

Rice, the most important thing, was a bit over seasoned, but on the vinegar not the sugar, that's a first for me in Reno, it's common they put too much sugar in the rice. The Sushi chef pressed the rice together too hard so that on the Nigiri the amount of rice didn't look too large but it was really dense (a rice bomb) and filling.

Service was excellent being able to order directly from the Sushi Chef but we showed up right when it opened at 5pm to make sure we got a seat at the sushi bar, the only place you can get the AYCE. I could tell though once the place gets busy, it will take a lot longer to get your orders so I'd order double what you want (assuming you can eat it) when it's busy.

The Chinese food prices are on the high end for Chinese in general but not unreasonable considering it is an upscale restaurant. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than going to the steak house next door.“
