We had never ordered Sushi before. They were very helpful and explained the process. The food was fantastic!!!!
Awesome little Hole-In-the-Wall place. Great eats and fresh fish. Family run (or so to seem), and the food is on point! I have traveled the world in search of Gyoza… This place is #1 US, and #4 Personal bests for the world so far.Superb attention to detail, and even though they have a small price increase (don’t whine over a 1$), who cares; Good Food is good. They do it well! All of it!
Easily the best sushi in Reno. They dont offer all-you-can eat sushi and this means you get better quality fish and the correct ratio of rice to fish. My only criticism is that we had a spicy roll with chili oil that washed out the flavor of the fish and unagi a bit. But we may never eat sushi anywhere else in Reno ever again.
Amazing food, friendly owner. Love that they offer half rolls! Definitely visit 399 Sushi!
Oof this place. So firstly lady that was there was really rude. Rice is old tasting like they only make 1 pot n let it sit all day. The salmon was cut poorly, cheap wasabi, and cheap soy sauce. It was 20 for 2 plain rolls. Not worth it.
I decided to come here because saw good reviews about tasty sushi. Once I came in 2 employees were busy just looked up and looked back down, not welcoming at all and this is my first time I’m here.I looked around and all the tables were dirty only thing available was a booth on the corner, never once was offered anything to drink just felt awkward not the place to come and eat by urself.
Good sushi rolls that are perfect in size to eat. Only 4 pieces per roll and the price is very reasonable. The sushi taste fine and we found they contain excellent ingredients. However there was not much variation in taste. There was a bit of wait even though the place was not too crowded. We ordered take out but it took some time. Overall a positive experience and a good place to try out.
Sushi rice could be better.. raw fish a little bit older.. Not worth the money for their regular and special sushi.. go to an all-you-can eat sushi place instead.. my camera phone takes great food photos..
Omg I have to say the Sushi here is delicious! ?Such a cute little place and loved the decor and vibe inside. We ordered Seaweed salad and 3 full rolls. Had to take some home - the size is large. Loved the Nevada Crunch and Tiger rolls, they were AMAZING! Will def be back again! ?
I order Sushi without spicy Mayo on the ordering paper form and reiterated to the waitress when she took the paper. Sure enough my order was messed up. All the sushi I order had avocado, which was hard and crunchy, yes, it was crunchy! When asked about it the waitress said “so sorry” but did not offer to fix. When I was paying for my sushi one of the owner was coming back with avocados in grocery bag, which it was clear they knew they were out of matured avocados. They could’ve told me they didn’t have fresh avocados. Instead they decided to conceal it to get my business. I feel that a genuine Japanese sushi restaurant which is ran by actual Japanese and not Chinese, would have the honor of making things right. I went to have sushi with my son, only to be very disappointed. Based on my experience it’s safe to assume that some of the 5 stars reviews here are from the restaurant personnel themselves. Avoid, or if you do go, order one sushi to try out first.

By far the best sushi experience I've had and I've been to a few different places with all you can eat and all tho they dont have all you can eat trust me 2 rolls will be plenty and whatever you don't finish goes home with you???? I'll definitely be going back for more!
Excellent!! Great little sushi spot: staff was attentive & friendly, sushi was CRAZY GOOD!! The Ocean Fire was so flavorful & spicy & delicious. And the Gyoza was literally the best we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be returning here.
I really don't understand how this place has such a high rating. We just purchased four rolls, miso soup, and gyoza from here. The gyoza tasted pretty awful and the fish and fake crab in the sushi we ordered tasted so fishy and so bad that we threw out all four rolls because we worried that we would be sick. I wouldn't have written a review except that we basically just threw out fifty dollars worth of food. For the same price, you can get better sushi somewhere else.
The girl serving us was literally so rude it was almost unbelievable. Rolling her eyes, flat irritated tone, and acted like our existence was a huge problem for her. The ginger was dry and old, the fish was poor quality, we were the only ones in there and had long waited for any request. This with having to listen to her t.v. show and the air conditioning being broken made the experience the worst I've ever had.
There is not much for curb appeal, but the food is fantastic for a great price. Awesome hole in the wall!
