Good food, good prices, good service. A little smoke from the casino, but not bad at the back section.

I gotta lower my review of this place. They turn what is supposed to be an easy dinner option into a chore. There is always something wrong anymore.I ordered the pancake sandwich, they make me the regular breakfast sandwich. So I have to wait for them to make my correct order while the rest of my order gets cold.In another order my wife wanted a grilled ham and cheese. They forgot to add the ham. I had to go back to get the correct item. The word, "ham" in in the name. I had to wait till the next night to replace it. I called to let them know I was coming and placed my order which included an additional item that wasn't relevant to the sandwich. They had the ham and cheese Ready when I arrived but I had to wait for the rest of the order while the sandwich got cold. Then tonight I wasn't with my wife. We discussed me picking up dinner. She wanted the Belgium waffle and some chicken strips so she could do chicken and waffles. When I called up they informed me they don't make waffles after 12pm. I had to stop what I was doing, call my wife back and she had to settle for something else. We needed an easy dinner option that was close by on this night.Nowhere on the menu does it say that waffles stop at 12. It does say breakfast is served all day. But now my wife has to stop what she's doing, look over the menu and pick something else. Talking to management they seemed to think that just because they have fixed some of these issues by replacing the incorrect orders, it's less of a chore dealing with it.This place has become a constant disappointment and if we didn't need a close by easy dinner option we wouldn't have come in at all. If I can avoid it in the future, I don't think I'll be going back.

Kafana ... kinda weird name for a coffee shop casino restaurant. It's a pretty standard coffee shop, but I did notice they have a Monte Christo sandwich here. You don't see that very often, so that's what I got.It comes with fries or hashbrowns, I got the hashbrowns. The sandwich came and I saw the hashbrowns were cooked on the light side. The sandwich had quite a thick batter, like a piece of fried chicken. It was a decent Monte Cristo, but I may try something else next time.Service was fine and the restrooms were clean enough.

I have to say, as a restaurant manager myself, that this was the most amazing experience I have ever had. As a manager of any restaurant, this is what you strive for each and every one of your customers to experience. I've been to this restaurant a few times before, but today was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked into the restaurant and was greeted by our wonderful hostess who sat us sadly, I forgot to get her name to also give her praise. But I have to say that Alecia is one of the most amazing young ladies that we've come across in any restaurant here in Nevada or any of the other 18 states I've been to. She just seemed to be genuinely happy, and her smile was contagious it was just so welcoming. She was always at our table asking if we needed more to drink or just checking in on us. I have never in all my years ever seen someone so intensive as she was in any restaurant before. I wish everyone who works in the restaurant industry could learn from her and could see what true customer service looks like. Our waitress Norma was just as refreshing. She was always checking in on us. Norma is just as fantastic as Alecia. They had no clue, but they made my husband birthday lunch a little bit better by how they treated us. Our food was so yummy and delicious. With everything being so crazy expensive these days. I have to say that eating here was so reasonably priced. So if you're in for some fantastic food and a great experience. Or if you to want to experience these what amazing customer service is and meet 2 of the most phenomenal women ever, please take the drive out to cold springs and stop by Bordertown and have a bite to eat at Kafana restaurant and meet these 2 amazing women!!! Thank you for such a very wonderful experience. What we had isn't an option for us to recommend for you to try. I had the Bordentown cheeseburger. My husband had the hot dog, which he gave 2 thumbs up ? thank you again, the Warren's

This is a review for the Kafana restaurant ... strange name, I have no idea where it's from. A lot of the restaurant food reviews end up on the Bordertown Casino listing, so I'll post on both. I'm traveling south down the 395 from Susanville and I hit the Nevada border. I've heard about this Monte Cristo Sandwich they have here at the Kalafa Restaurant here inside the Bordertown Casino. I'm always on the lookout for a good properly done Monte Cristo, and that means battered and deep fried after the sandwich is assembled, too many places skip the deep frying and just give you toast. Exit off the freeway is easy and we pull into the Casino. Parking isn't bad and the restrooms are right as you enter, so that's convenient. We're seated in a nice cozy booth. Looking over the menu I see the Monte Cristo described as a ham, turkey, & Swiss cheese sandwich battered & deep fried - ($13.99). It comes with choice of potato, fries or, hash browns. We both order the Monte Cristo sandwich with hashbrowns. The food arrives quickly, but the first thing I notice is the hash browns are a little pale and not very browned. I guess that's how they do them here, so if you want more crispy golden brown you have to ask. Mine got sent back to get more cooked. After my hashbrowns were browned more , they were crispy and tasty. The sandwich comes with this strawberry syrup stuff that's way super tasty. The batter is pretty thick on this version of the Monte Cristo and you need to use a fork and knife, instead of just picking the thing up with your hands. I'll say, it's is one of the better versions I've had. Good filling of ham and turkey with Swiss cheese melted inside. The batter is a bit too thick for my liking, but I still enjoyed my sandwich. In fact it's so filling, that I took half the sandwich to go in a box. In my pics, the batter is so thick , it's hard to tell that's a sandwich under that deep fried batter. The food and service seem pretty good here at Bordertown, and I'd stop in here again on my travels up and down the 395.

The food and the service is wonderful . Even if you come in at 8:30 pm, they will not make you feel like you are being rushed to eat, because they are closing at 9 pm . The to go orders have been correct every time, too .
