A decent spot walking distance from casinos/hotels in the downtown Reno area when it is not too chilly. We tried the Mexican Mocha drink and the breakfast burrito. Both were yummy! There is plenty of seating (indoor & outdoor seating). Parking is on the street.

Tied with the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. Everything is good but that’s the thing that really stood out.

Dietary restrictions: Some great vegan options.

A hidden gem! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends.
Their coffee is rich and flavorful, and the menu offers a variety of delicious pastries and light bites. Whether you’re looking for a quick pick-me-up or a quiet place to unwind, Capello Cafe hits the mark with its quality service and inviting vibe.

*In the heart of downtown Reno, nestled near the Riverwalk and just a stone's throw from the El Dorado Casino, lies a gem of a café that will make you rethink breakfast. Café Capello, a spot buzzing with post-Burning Man revelers, is the kind of place where time slows down, if only to savor every bite and sip.*

*Let's talk about the Mexican mocha iced coffee—a concoction that hits you like a shot of adrenaline, yet so smooth it could almost lull you into a caffeinated trance. It’s served up by Ivan, a barista who operates with the precision and speed of a top-tier line cook in a packed kitchen. Kudos to him; the man’s a machine.*

*And the food? Well, it’s everything you want breakfast to be. The vegan French toast could make a carnivore question their choices—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with just the right amount of sweetness. The grilled cheese is a masterclass in simplicity, perfectly golden and oozing with comfort. Then there's the avocado toast, a vibrant medley of creamy avocado and peppery arugula that makes you wonder why you don’t eat this every morning.*

*This café, with its eclectic crowd and electric energy, is more than just a pit stop. It’s a cultural crossroads, a place where the dust of the desert meets the river breeze, and where breakfast isn’t just a meal but an experience. Café Capello is, without a doubt, one of the best places to start your day in Reno.*

Got tired of hotel coffee and decided to take a walk to this cafe next to the Truckee River. I’d been here years before, and it would appear they’ve done a revamp of the interior. Once giving alternate coffee shop vibes, the interior is now that if a Restoration Hardware store. But, we’re here for the coffee, right? The drip coffee is good. I’m not a Starbucks customer. Ever. At all. If that’s what you like then you may not like this place. I also had a vegetarian breakfast burrito. There was enough to feed two people with a decent appetite, and enough for three with lite breakfast appetites. It was delicious! The mushrooms and onions were perfectly caramelized, combined with scrambled eggs, a few potatoes diced and just enough cheese as not to overwhelm everything else. Could have used salt, but I’m a less is more person. So, salt lovers, get out your shakers. I avoided the sterile interior by sitting out on their sunny patio. Before I forget: customer service was friendly and attentive.

Vegan and in Reno? You must stop here. Great vegan options (and some animal hater items too), all delicious and served with care and kindness by really terrific staff.

So glad that I found them. Will be going again before leaving and on my list for anytime in this town again

Vegetarian options: Actually vegan but google maps isn't run by animal lovers, yet

Loved this little cafe! Just driving though Reno and needed breakfast! Being a vegan family Café Capello had a nice handful of vegan options. Everything was delicious and the portions were wonderfully large so we took leftovers for later! Cute ambiance! Definitely a great stop and it is right next to West Street Plaza and Wingfield Park, a relaxing place to take a stroll after you eat!
