Comfort Food Restaurants near Reno, NV

“My husband and I go to Reno every year for our anniversary. Famous Dave's has always been one of our lunch spots during our visit and use to be all 5 stars. I don't know if they have a new owner or manager but this year everything was different. It was still good just not excellent. My husband had the pulled pork ( he did not like this year) hot link, macaroni and cheese and beans. Includes corn muffin. I had the chicken tenders, hot link , macaroni and cheese, beans and corn muffin. I also had their smokin Island iced tea speciality cocktail which was fun to watch them make at our table but over priced . The service was fine. And the atmosphere was quiet as we were there in the middle of the week around 2 pm. I would love to go back like we do every year I just don't know if we will. So I give Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que 4 out of 5 stars .

“Don’t wait to try this place. We walked in thinking it was just another breakfast restaurant. Boy were we surprised! They have divine biscuits! Never had such a perfect, fluffy biscuit. The blueberry pancakes and hash-ups were also delicious. Service was on point. The restaurant was clean and nicely designed. There is both seating outdoors and inside. We went on a Friday morning at opening and walked right in, but have heard there is often a wait on weekends. I will dream about their biscuits until we are back in Reno again. Seriously. Great biscuits!“

“Order at counter and they bring your plate to the table. There’s no dedicated server but they do walk around and refill drinks or clear tables.

Birria tacos were delicious, chips and guacamole were fresh and yummy. Staff were jubilant and friendly. Prices were fair. Not sure why so many negative reviews - it was a win for me.“
