We were visiting Reno from the Bay Area, in early December for a comedy event at the Grand Sierra. My husband (of French descent) was curious about Filipino eateries in the area, thus we stumbled upon Isla De Manila. Upon entrance, we were greeted kindly by an elder lady, and I ended up giving her the nickname of 'Manang Fe' towards the end of our time there. We ordered a couple of different dishes, my husband-Crispy Sisig, and for myself-Pork Belly, alongside garlic rice. The food as a whole was good, but the portions could be more generous.Overall, we had a pleasant time chatting with 'Manang Fe', and look forward to coming back to continue our camaraderie and enjoy more food from their menu offerings.

Food wasn't that good. Old traditional Filipino restaurant. If you like Homemade cooking. Then you'll like it but I don't.

Food was good and very clean. The food just just super pricey and the amount of food they serve doesn't match the prices you pay. Just four items and rice over $100. I would like to eat there again but to pricey!

She will know what I am referring to upon reading this.Anyway, we ordered a couple of different dishes, my husband-sisig, and for myself-liempo, alongside garlic rice. Over priced plus small portions. Was charged 47.00 for such a tiny portion. Crispy pata. Adobo was charged 42.00 and portion was small there as well. Very disappointed.

Better than expected. Servings are big enough for two people

Food was delicious and the quantity was plentiful. The service was great because they were very attentive. At first, we thought it wasn't open because it looked it had no life, but I'm glad we checked. I would change the ambiance because it was messy,.

Sig Sig was delicious but was a little disappointed with the Kare Kare. We also had the Bistek, that was very good.

Home cooked Filipino meals in a restaurant setting. What's not to like? I only wish I had the stomach to try more of the menu.Parking: Plenty of parking spots available

First time eating here, after actually catching the place open. The other times we attempted to eat here the place has always been closed. Upon entering, we were greeted by really friendly staff. There were a few things on the menu that were not available including a couple of dishes that we wanted to eat (bummer). My daughter loved the Pork Sinigang that she ordered. It was sour but not too sour and did not seem to taste like the soup base came from a packet. You can also choose between shrimp or chicken Sinigang (maybe fish, I forget). The vegetable Pinakbet I ordered was not salty at all, but it had more squash than other veggies. Hubby's deep friend Pompano must have tasted good because he polished it off, nothing left but the bones. Downsides are: we had to pay separately for rice, the appetizer we ordered--Sisig, was not really crispy the way it's supposed to be, and for some reason, it was on the sweet side. Lastly, their hours of operation is not set and not in line with the posted hours that going there is a hit and miss.

I have tried this place twice. First time I had gotten sick. Decided to give it another try. They did ok. The flavor for the most part was a bit more bland but I understand. Restaurants can't do full flavor. I normally order adobo, pompano, lechon and pancit whenever we do any filipino Restaurant. The prices compared to the portions do not add up especially if they are taming the flavors downs. I order from these restaurants to get authentic food that reminds me of home. Eating here really makes me miss lolos.

Authentic Filipino food in the heart of Reno Nevada. We really love the ambience and how it to us like you are walking into a Restaurant in Manila. The owners were also really nice and warm to all the guests that they will check on you every once in a while. I personally love the. Sisig and pansit! Definitely coming back here

Doesnt look like a restaurant from outside at all- service is typical Asian service. Mom & pop type-run shop. What we got: crispy sisig and kare kare - taste of the crispy sisig was a lot better than the kare kare, but only get it if you're ready for a fatty pork belly meal. Was fried to (almost) perfection! - kare kare has a rich peanut butter sauce taste, so the fresh vegetables (not pictured because I forgot to take a photos before) of green beans and baby bok choy offset it well. roasted Eggplants on top also added nice texture to the beef. Beef itself (oxtail) was kind of dry- possible simmered too long? We Don't get Filipino food often, so it was a nice treat to try something different. But nothing I would go out of my way for if in town again
