AMAZING FOOD. Fun, modern setting, a bit loud and tables close together.

Service is not bad, but here the situation I ran into tonight. I work late on the weekend so my husband went out to eat with a friend to this restaurant and I asked him to bring me a dish home. When he tried ordering my food they said they don't do take out and that he couldn't order my food despite already eating at the restaurant. They weren't closing soon but apparently after he asked why they said they don't like to give take out boxes.

Soooo, it's a great restaurant to go out to eat at but apparently it's a NO-GO if you want to order food to go. Seems strange they wouldn't want that extra business, but I guess some restaurants can't afford to purchase take out boxes....I hope they can afford to pay their restaurant staff enough when they can't seem to afford take out boxes for their customers.

Food is good. The restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m. walked in at 8:15 p.m. And they had their last call

Honestly nothing special about their ramen.

This place has been touted as the pinnacle of Reno ramen and I must say it was extremely ordinary. Nothing special about their ramen, the taste was bland, the extra spices and items they provided on the side were not even Japanese. They gave us chinese chilli sauce to put it.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere.

The food is absolutely delicious. I took my mom to dinner here and we split shrimp dumplings (amazing) and pork Ramen. Both were incredible. Our server was really friendly even though the place was PACKED with people. Definitely lives up to the hype. We will be back 🧡

This place is the best restaurant in Reno by far, especially if you love sharing plates, char grilled excellence, and creative dishes packed with balanced flavors. Having eaten here so many times while living in Reno, to now living in London where the food scene is unmatched, I’ve seen that Kauboi Izakaya is competitive on a global scale. Highly recommend for date nights, or with a larger group, so you can share more plates and try it all. Walk-in’s only, so plan to add your name to the list and enjoy a wander around midtown on a busy night.

This was my first time eating this type of fusion cuisine. Sat at the bar and our waitress put in food for us and kept it coming! The fried chicken with spicy sauce is absolutely insane, I could eat 100 of them. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely horrible service refused to seat us at a table because it was only a party of 2 even though there were tables open and told me “it doesn’t work like that” like what? Food was hella mid would not come back would not recommend especially because of the rude hostess

Every dish on the menu is made fresh with attention to detail and absolutely delicious flavor. Some of my favorites- charred broccoli, duck fried rice, short rib, soba salad. Got to sit at the bar tonight and watch the cooks do their magic. What an experience, they are all amazing. If you have not tried this place, you are missing out!

I came here with some friends (party of 6). After waiting over an hour for the Ramen my wife ordered, the manager (Jamie) was passing by and I asked her to check on the order. She was very rude and basically told me that it was our fault we ordered Ramen for my wife as a single order. That their restaurant service model was shareable plates. I gave up on my dumpling order and my wife’s Ramen order finally arrived. Several people at our table ordered other dishes long after our initial order and they got theirs right away. Bad service design, do better. My wife is 5 months pregnant and waited almost two hours for her main entree. Food was decent, by the prices are Astronomical for the portions. Go eat at Arario some time and you will see the best food and service in town!

The food was really great, albeit overpriced for the size of the portions. The service, however, was very disappointing. The server was nice, but the hostess/ manager was extremely rude. When questioned why a ramen was taking over an hour, her reply was “that’s why I told you not to order individual items”. It’s a regular menu item and that reply was unacceptable.
