Quick to get a seat and spacious enough for a larger group. The Salsas and bean dip were tasty but the chips were mediocre. The food was mediocre, nice presentation but not exceptional flavor. The big kicker for us was the broken toothpick that was hidden inside my husbands chimichanga that we bit into. He’s not one to complain but he didn’t want to keep eating after that. I would not recommend the flautas.

This place is a hidden gem. Great happy hour specials. Friendly staff in a large open building. I enjoyed a house margarita and chips, salsa and bean dip were all great. I'll be back again soon for lunch or dinner. Bring the family!

Came down for the weekend and heard they had DJ during evening. Cover charge was $20 normally I won't mind but when I pay cover charge I imagine decent place. Dj must absolutely love hearing himself because every 3 SECONDS he was interrupting music. It's not like you have music going and DJ talks no!! As he's talking it mutes the music it went on like that for several hours till I couldn't take it anymore. Never coming to this place, it was a joke! If I could give negative stars I would.

Food is pretty good but service is spotty. My biggest complaint is that in the dining room towards the kitchen always has a distinct sewer smell. It's probably not their fault but it's definitely off putting.

In my quest to diversify my go-to Mexican joints, I hit up La Fonda. Situated in a less-than-charming corner of the city rests this colorful restaurant with a huge bar. I haven't tried their cocktails, but I'd imagine this is a great place for margaritas. Service is friendly, and they never seem to be terribly busy (and are thus appropriately staffed). The food is four stars. Nothing epic, but nothing horrific. Their red enchilada sauce (not pictured) is probably my favorite, and they offer two salsas, one spicy and warm, the other cold and mild, and beans with the chips (that's competitive given other restaurants in Reno). Tortillas are made in-house (huge difference in taste). I'm excited to try their mole next time, being a mole aficionado of sorts. I've already been back since my first visit!
