Sad news. I recently read that the little nugget closed due to COVID-19. It's a sad day for all the thousands of people that have had the pleasure to experience one of the best burgers in the world. I am hoping some day or someone will bring back the little nugget awful awful burger. Until then.. it will be sorely missed. End of an era.

A must stop when visiting Reno. Old school diner with some great choices. Breakfast lunch or dinner. The Awful Awful is famous. A truly delicious burger.

Got there about one, it wasn't busy. Really nothing but great experiences here, so I will be back. This place has an awesome atmosphere.

Sad to see this place go. The world's famous Awful Awful was one if not the best burger in Reno. To most locals it was the biggest little casino & dinner.

Cannot fault this wonderful establishment with cuisine meriting the highest award and the service second to none. One small suggestion. Why don't you have afternoon tea and cakes with a string quartet playing music from Lehar and that celebrated English composer Elgar. Without doubt this would prove an unqualified success.

I know it is now closed but leaving a review anyway! We purposely made the trip on July 29th to try it out before they closed because we had Just seen them on a repeat episode of Pawn Stars. We arrived at 1:50 pm. The line was literally out the door and down the sidewalk. They had a sign up system on Facebook which did zero good. I think it was just so they can gauge the flow. A guy who left with his hands full said he waited 2.5 hours. Luckily we got in and out within an hour and 10 mins but for this particular day they were ONLY serving the Awful Awful Burger. It was probably a good idea because the wait would be even longer. They just had about a dozen burgers going constantly along with the fries. We were able to find a table to eat it fresh. It was a large burger on top of some shoestring fries. They were seasoned like truffle fries and tasted pretty good. What made the burger good was the grilled onion bun. As for the meat itself, Eh. Not your best grade of beef but altogether was good. It would totally make a great late night meal after drinking. I am glad we tried it out but not sad that I won't be able to return either. This area of Reno is very dirty. You see a lot of derelicts and questionable folks that you feel sorry for. I can see why this and surrounding casinos struggle during the pandemic. We come to Reno about 5 times a year and I cannot remember the last time we were in this part of town. Maybe the 1990's?Farewell Little Nugget Diner. It is unfortunate that you had to close.

After about 6 or so beers and 4 or so shots, it is time for The Awful Awful Burger at The Little Nugget Diner. Great food! We will miss them when the close. ?

Sad to see the little nugget go, as it's been opened since 1958.

It is time to say Adios, Happy Trails, and Thanks for the Memories to a true Reno institution. After many decade, the Little Nugget is closing its doors, and we are losing one of the staples of the Reno food scene, the legendary "Awful Awful". So with a sense of tragic loss, it is time to fill the stomach and the arteries one last time, and revel in the memories of burgers past as Downtown continues to change with the times. For any longtime Reno resident, this was sort of 'THE' iconic local dish. It has a storied history in our region, getting its name from the fact it is "Awful Big, and Awful Good". A half-pound burger patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions, the addition of 'secret sauce', all on a toasted onion bun, and served atop a mountain of fries. This has always been a dang good burger, and this time was no different, being able to almost taste the nostalgia. This place was the antithesis of fancy dining, simply the small diner and takeout area in the rear of a tiny casino. Smokey, dim, and noisy, this was one of the last vestiges of an older version of Reno. Yet you could always count on a great burger if you needed a hardy meal after some gaming, if you're a college student after too much drinking, or during an event and you could easily swing in.If you try to nab one last burger, there are several things to keep in mind. Firstly, the line is INSANE, with wait times in excess of two hours. There is also no more online ordering, so in-person is the only way you can purchase it. Lastly, you will run a risk of violating social distancing practices, given the long line and cramped spaces, so be very vigilant, wear your masks, practice safe conduct, and try to encourage your fellow customers to do the same.In these last few days of being open, it is clear how much people in our area want to experience a taste of local flare before they close, and it is great to see the love for this long time establishment. Farewell, Little Nugget, things were Awfully Good!

My boyfriend and I drove down from Sac to get one last awful awful before they close. the line was long, but moved right along. Burgers were amazing as always. I'd like to S/O two employees one was the bartender(didn't catch his name) for his great drinks and good customer service. I'd also like to mention Anthony, he was sanitizing everything and continuously telling customers "thank you for coming and supporting us." Great service all the way around We're definitely gonna miss this place.

Social distancing IS NOT IN ENFORCEMENT!!!! Husband and I (along with 75+, give or take other customers) showed up on July 24, 2020 before they were scheduled to close their doors on the 30th. The line was out the door! People jammed together. Lady in front of us on her phone with no mask. We looked around, then at each other, shrugged, no burger is worth our lives. Bye bye Awful Awful. The scene was just - Awful.

Wow, The little Nugget is closing it doors. So sad this historic landmark will fade away like many others have in downtown Reno over the years. You will be missed, but not forgotten! 'Awful Awful Burger"

Got two awful awfuls to go tonight for dinner and they were delicious! More fries than we could ever eat. Fantastic service by "Snacks" aka Suzanne. Sad they are closing next week.
