As a retired chef, I have never given five stars to any restaurant. However, I would be amiss if I did not give marcolinos restaurant five stars plus. Marco has done a fantastic job building his restaurant. His staff, his attitude towards his customers is outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. That wants great food, warm atmosphere. And the best service in the city of reno.

My friend and I recently drive into Reno for a conference for the first weekend in March. After an 11.5 hour drive, we were looking for a nice Italian restaurant to eat at. Just by shear luck we decided Marcolino’s was the place to have dinner. We did not have a reservation and were able to get a table within reasonable time. The waitress was great at welcoming us and getting us a table. The restaurant is relatively small but a great atmosphere to dine in.We ordered the garlic bread which a piece fell off when it was brought to the table. The waitress immediately had another garlic bread fired and brought out within minutes, without charging us for another.I ordered the Penna Ala Vodka Chicken and my friend ordered the Chicken Parm. Once the food come out it was looking delicious and it was great. For dessert, I ordered the New York Cheesecake which was creamy and rich. My friend ordered the Spumoni which the other waiter mentioned it was just shipped in from San Francisco, also delicious.Overall, we were definitely satisfied with our experience and of course the food. Compliments to the chef and the great staff. We were also told that Marcolino’s started off as a food truck and just had recently moved into this building not too long ago.

Great food and service at a reasonable price. A very small Inviting environment. Will definitely dine there again and highly recommend Marcolin's to family and friends.Parking: Limited street Parking for us. Not a big deal, but a consideration for those who have mobility issues

The service was amazing, and the menu was wonderful. The garlic bread was awesome, linguine w/shrimp and rigatoni bolognese were both worth recommending.

"what would you recommend?" THE MENU!! There is not one bad dish, everything is absolutely fantastic! I have come back just to try the next item on their menu I was too full to eat the last time. The portions are generous, the service is fast, and the atmosphere is romantic. 1,000% recommend. I have been telling everyone about this place. Definitely my new favorite Italian Place.

My man took me here for a lovely dinner Friday night. It was a charming atmosphere with delightful service. Their menu options were right on point. We had the calamari appetizer. It was the very best I have ever had. He had the fettuccine with shrimp. It was fresh & cooked to perfection. I had the chicken parmigiana which was also delicious. I would highly recommend dining there for any occasion.

I went with a friend for dinner last night and although the food and the setting of the restaurant was good we will never return. Our waiter, who was very pleasant, asked us if we were going to the theater after dinner so that he knew whether we needed to be served quickly. We informed him that we were in no rush. We each ordered a glass of wine and a main course and we were barely finished with the food when the owner came to our table, tapped his watch, and said that we had to leave as others were already waiting for the table. We have never had this happen before in a restaurant and consider it very rude and inappropriate. I had reserved the table for 5.15 and we were asked to leave at 6.45. I know that when making a reservation some restaurants politely request that you vacate the table after 2 hours. But there was no indication of any time limit when I made the online reservation, unless I missed it. However, we weren't even permitted 2 hours; it was 1.5 hours. I don't know when it became standard practice for restaurants to put a time limit on tables. 2 hours seems reasonably ok, although I doubt it would happen in European countries, where people consider dinner as something to be savored and not rushed. So although the location of Marcolino's is lovely, the wait staff attentive and pleasant and the food good, sadly we will never be back.
