I am beyond disappointed. This restaurant has gone from great to garbage.
• The Service: They are dishonest. The waitress misled us about food quantities and tried to sneak three extra items onto our bill. She fixed it too quickly when caught, suggesting this is a common tactic to rip off customers.
• The Food: Absolutely horrific. The Ramen and Teriyaki Beef tasted bizarre and were impossible to swallow.
• Health Hazard: We felt very sick to our stomachs right after the meal. We seriously doubt the freshness of their meat and ingredients.
It is clear this establishment no longer cares about its reputation or its customers' health. Save your money and your health—go somewhere else.

This restaurant used to be really good, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Our experience this time was horrible.

When we ordered, we specifically asked the waitress whether the amount would be too much, and she assured us it would not be. However, once the dishes arrived, it was far more food than we could reasonably finish, which felt misleading.

On top of that, many items were not included in the all-you-can-eat menu, and this was not clearly explained. Even worse, the waitress added three extra items to our bill that we did not order. When we pointed this out, she immediately recognized the issue and removed them, which made it feel less like an honest mistake and more like an attempt to overcharge us.

Overall, this experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this place is no longer what it used to be.

The service is terrible. Waitstaff see you waving and continue chatting with their colleagues. Nothing screams class than the vacuum cleaners rolled into the dining area after a table is cleared. No tablecloths. Food is passable but not good. Atmosphere is terrible - noise, cigarette smoke, and loud music.

I don’t know why anyone goes to this restaurant. I live in Reno, this is bottom of the barrel.

You must be careful when there for lunch hours and see the lunch specials. If you order the lunch special during the weekend and do not say lunch special when you do, they serve a dinner plate that is twice the price. The waiters are not required to specify if you want the dinner plate because the lunch is not served on weekends. So what was 20 becomes 50.

Oceano is still one of my favorite sushi spots at the Reno. The food is consistently good, and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, which really adds to the experience.

It’s a great place for lunch or dinner, and the atmosphere is always enjoyable. They also offer a free private dining room (when available), which is a great option if you’re meeting with a larger group and want a more comfortable setting.

One thing to note is that the sushi rolls tend to be heavier on the rice, which can fill you up pretty quickly. Personally, I wish they offered smaller or lighter rolls, but the quality and flavors are still very good.

I also appreciate that they offer a local resident discount if you have a Peppermill players card.

Overall, a solid choice for sushi in a great setting.

We got the seafood linguine, it was not great. White fish and salmon, one shrimp, the flavors did not jive. A dud on a night we had childcare!

Came in for dinner last night 11/12/25 for my daughters b day. We went in for sushi
Let’s start with the service. Very fast and friendly. Our server Erica was absolutely perfect. Friendly, polite and was very attentive.
The food was very good. The rolls were very large and had good amount of fish. The muscles were the high light in my opinion. Price was higher then most for all you can eat. Food did have the quality to ask for $50 a person.
The restaurant was very clean and had a good vibe. The tables were a little cluttered to do all you can eat sushi for 4 people.

All and all I would recommend and will definitely be back in.

Halibut and chips are amazing, also, try the crab & shrimp combo seafood salad 🥗. Pass on the oysters.

Had dinner at Oceano inside the Peppermill — such a nice spot! The inside is beautiful and the prices weren’t bad at all for the quality. I didn’t try the all-you-can-eat option this time, but I’ll definitely be back for that soon. Great atmosphere and overall experience!

Sushi was low quality and dry. Fish used was warm and not fresh tasting at all. Not worth the price for sushi at all. Do not recommend. Much better options in Reno for better sushi

$36.99/person for ayce lunch sushi. $46.99/person for ayce dinner sushi. We got cioppino (had king crab and lobster), chef mix grilled (dad) and seafood linguini. Ample seafood in all 3 items. Ambiance, high end, bright and ocean-leaning. Lots of seating with booths, tables, private rooms, and bar seating. Way better price and chefs than liberty food and wine exchange. Excellent service. Also free bread and butter. Would recommend. All pics of food, receipt, menu and interior on my profile, lags my phone if I post with the review.
