New coffees have arrived and I am pumped! The shop is small and intimate, yet busy thanks to the great local businesses that surround it. Seating isn't a problem if you're hanging out because most of the crowd is grab and go. Menu seems pretty close to the other location, but don't be surprised if it's a little more limited from time to time. They do offer two for Tuesday here though! The natural Colombia is delightful and my pick for the day. They also had a lactic Colombian, a process I am still not sure I understand. It tasted good but I couldn't pinpoint the difference and found I preferred the natural. I also grabbed a honey processed El Salvador, which I'll have to let you know about. Space is super intimate, so don't expect a ton of privacy. The large table is nice to spread out on though!

The Old World Coffee lab in South Reno is set in an industrial park and was a bit hard to find at first. It's only open Monday-Friday because their main clientele is the surrounding businesses. It's also where they roast their beans so it's just a small storefront but a hip little space. There is usually someone sipping on a coffee while typing on their laptop at the one table inside. I have been here 4-5 times and always get a super tasty coffee drink. I usually try the specialty latte, which lately has been a vanilla lavender. The coffee itself is smooth and it has just the right amount of lavender. I've also tried the orange blossom honey and the (spicy!) mocha drogata which were both good. Bonus tip: if you want to buy their beans, go on Tuesday when they are on sale for 2 for $25. You'll save 4 or more dollars a bag. Enjoy!

We stopped here in the morning based on a recommendation from a friend. It is very small inside but very clean. It feels like your at home making your own brew then sitting down to relax. Location is not the best. It's in an industrial area and parking is limited. So be careful if you come with a group because there is no seating outside and very limited inside. Decor was very basic and limited because of the size of the place. The coffee was very good had great flavor. The staff were really nice. They joked around and were very conversational. So overall, cool place to stop and pick up a coffee but don't stay.

Great service, wonderful coffee. Too bad they're not open on Saturday mornings... 😕

When the beans are roasted less than 100 feet from the espresso machine (usually Thursday's), you know you're in for a treat!

I tried out OW today by IGT I was very please with my chai latte one of the best I have had in a while. The presentation of the foam and all the spices were an added bonus. I will be a regular here for sure. The small atmosphere is different but the location is perfect for me at least.

We had a great time at The throw down! Good times with good people and beer and coffee of course.

I'm going to try and sum up my 3 experiences here in some bullet points. If you like this place great, but for me it has just been a business that thinks it doesn't need customers to survive. - First visit. Arrived a few minutes before they closed at 1:00pm and was told they were already done for the day. They couldn't make me a latte. - Second visit, go by at 12:50 and they are already closed... I guess no coffee on a later lunch break. (They have placed this lab in an office / warehouse district... but are not open at 1:00pm... close at 2:00, why is this not obvious?) - Third visit, I'll order the cold brew option (on the menu)... "sorry we don't have that at this location, we are a lab"... lol, make a menu for the lab then! Funny enough... I have yet to have coffee here. :-/

Great coffee! I had a standard Latte and purchased a bag of beans. The latte was fantastic, and complete with beautiful latte art. I'm a complete beginner with espresso, and it is taking me some trial and error to get the beans dialed in for my machine, but I was finally able to pull a beautiful shot. I still need to fine tune, but I'm enjoying the process. Stop by Old World for some amazing coffee and friendly people.
