Wow, I'm really impressed that Reno finally got a legit bierhall! Food, drink and atmosphere were all super authentic, and the wait staff were friendly and efficient. Strong recommend!! I'll be back.

If you’re looking for good German food, look elsewhere. The food is expensive and not that great. Wooden benches with no backs or cushions. Good music and good service but German salad was bland and not hot. Sausages were pretty good but sauerkraut was just fried cabbage. $21 for 3 sausages on fried cabbage and 2 kinds of mustard, and we bought another mustard. We had to order a side of potato salad. ‘Sorry. We were hoping it would be good.

First impression of Prost Biergarten was very, very poor. First, we fetched our beers at the bar because we got tired of waiting on staff. The waitress did eventually come to take our food order. She blamed her tardiness on shift change. Strike one. After taking our food orders, we waited best part of an hour - before I sought out the waitress to ask when we should expect to be served. She replied - another 15 to 20 minutes. I expressed my displeasure. She curtly replied that if I did not like the wait times - that I could go in the kitchen and speak with the chef myself. Strike two. I was tempted, but I was with professional associates - so thought better not to. I doubt the owner or health department would have been keen on that idea anyway. Disgruntled patron in restricted area? Very foolish idea. Regardless, I thought it rude and unprofessional on her part to say such a thing. When food was finally served, the waitress forgot my wife's order. Strike three. In the end, cold tater tots and Bratwursts were not worth the price or the wait. So, the manager made an appearance to address my concerns. He was confrontational with me in front of coworkers - which I did not appreciate. Strike four. He also wore a tank top - a hygienic taboo for many restaurants because armpit hair and skin cells that can be introduced into the food. Strike five and UGH (gross)! I had seen and heard enough. Never going back. So for anyone looking for long wait times, mediocre food, poor service - and tank tops in the kitchen, then this is definitely the place to go. BTW - There are better choices for German beer lovers in Reno - including Schussboom Brewing Company. Just saying . . .

I had just landed at RNO, coming from Munich, and found myself in need of some Bavarian food and beer. This place scratched that itch. Good food and solid German beer selection.

Amazing food! Better than Bismarck for sure.
Our service was Great.
It's pretty much a sports bar with great German food. Nothing wrong with that, just a description.
Will return with friends for sure.

There are outdoor seatings and the atmosphere feels like I was in “Germany.” There was only one waiter so my table had to wait few minutes. The pork cutlet was thin and crispy but could be more seasoned. The potato salad was good but could use a little more salt. The pickled cucumbers with thymes, I can definitely taste a lot of vinegar. Pretzel was very chewy. The pork cutlet sandwich was delicious. The onion brats were juicy and tasty. If you never had food like this, it might get some time to get used to the vinegar side dishes and meat not as seasoned. You would need to dip in sauces.

Cool German dive bar with great German food. Nice vibes and quality wood bar, flooring and seats.
Stopped by for lunch and came back later for dinner, drinks, and comedy. Ordered the bratwurst plate and a Haufbrau Dunkel—both were solid and tasty. Service was great at lunch, though none of the staff spoke German, so it wasn’t very “authentically German,” but it still had a good vibe and cozy atmosphere. For anyone concerned about service, I can see how busy event nights might make things hectic—they kindly warned us when there was an event that orders would be at the bar, which helps set expectations. Also, if you get the pretzel, try it with all three sauces—it really makes a difference. Overall, a great spot for Americanized Bavarian food and drinks. Would definitely return!
Not sure what happened here....but after showing us the bill, which was close to $40, I gave the waitress $60 cash...we were waiting for more than 15 minutes for her to come back with our receipt and change...she was not coming, so we said, forget it, and we left with her keeping the 50% tip....we had Schnitzel and Spatzle and some other dish, I was with someone from Austria, and she said it does not come close to authentic European food taste wise...anyway, for the way they treated us we'll be not coming back to this place, too bad, I really wanted to support them...well, they lost valuable customers.
Great schnitzel and brats
I ordered schnitzel based on other reviews. I wasn't overly impressed. It was pretty decent sized but it was dry. The gravy was quite salty
