Room felt grimey, and humid.. had to take a shower twice a day. A bit of a warning, UNSECURED WIFI DO NOT USE THE WIFI, any one with a set of skills can view your information you share online. Stay off the wifi. The maintenance and cleaning staff were the best, and made my experience better. Other than that, carpets need to get replaced, or washed, bathrooms don't have locks, no ventilation fans in the bathroom making the entire room "wet". If you have breathing problems, might want to check something else. My steak was overcooked, and served on Styrofoam for 29 dollars I expected high class cooking.. I was wrong, tossed it in the trash and instead ordered R Town Pizza which by the way was an 8.5 out of 10.

Bed was a little harder then I like. The reason for the 4. The shower was cool, and that was new. Had a hole in the glass to stick your hand so you don't get wet when you turn the shower on. Way cool.

Attended a wedding reception on Aug 25th. The property and the venue are not bad to look at. I am going to list out the positives and negatives below.Positives:Location, Front Desk Staff, Valet, Bar Tender for the event.Negatives:1. Lighting of the event venue.2. Air-Conditioning was absolutely ineffective. It was stuffy and suffocating. Although, complaints were made, there was no remediation. This is the ultimate basic requirement.3. Food: Guests were told that they can grab appetizers within a certain time-frame and if they can’t (because I mean it’s a party, some people might just come by to eat later), too bad! Also, never been to a banquet where appetizers aren’t actually doing rounds, but are placed in chafing dishes for guests to go collect. Weird!4. Food 2.0: Guests got a maximum of 1 hour to rush and grab dinner. Given the stringent time constraints, many guests grabbed their plates and left it on their respective tables in order to finish drinks, take pictures, dance, and celebrate with the couple first. To everyone’s surprise, the serving staff just took FULL plates of food away saying they cannot wait me that is the “rule”. Never been to a hotel or banquet event with such atrocious rules where you don’t care if the guests go back home hungry. All in all, a property of this stature, must exude service at its finest, but instead, it scarred the experience of so many people traveling from all parts of the World for this event. The staff clearly didn’t wait even until the event was done and come to think of it, they rushed clearing the tables because they wanted to head out.If anyone from the Hotel ever reads this, know that I have a Masters in Hospitality from Switzerland and I have worked in multitudes of Hotels and not one of those hotels would ever treat their guests the way we have been treated.Truly abysmal and disappointing. I feel for the hosts as this is their money down the drain!

I went for Darkshot coffee - stayed to "office" at the bar. Delicious food!! Highly recommend the Avocado toast, switch out cheese and egg, add smoked salmon for yum! Genuinely nice staff, great art, clean, waaaaay better than smelly Starbucks or casinos. Outside seating and lounge seating available in addition to dining. Great respite and refuel. Thank you

Great place, nice staff, cozy rooms, and the bocce ball is so fun. This place is a short walk from downtown where all the excitement happens, but also far enough where you don't have to worry about anything or anyone when it's time to relax.Nearby activities: A short walk from Downtown Reno where all the fun happens. Insight bocce ball, an arcade, pool tables, a bar

We had our family Naidu weddding reception on 25th August around 7-11. Starters they serve only for 1 hours & then they took it. After that dinner serve only for 1 hour. They took dinner around 9pm also whatever we kept on the table they took that of that at 9pm. Ac was not even working at all. We spend so much money none of our family was happy. We will never recommend any one to arrange for wedding reception at Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel.

This was one of the most horrible wedding venues. Would not give time to finish eating and enjoy food and drinks at the naidu wedding reception.

One of the best Marriot hotels I have stayed at and that is saying a lot as I live in San Diego! Wonderful view of the truckee River and within walking distance to great bars and restaurants! Only thing I didn’t much appreciate was that one the reasons I chose the Renaissance was that there is a fantastic entertainment center “Bundox Bocci” which has multiple bocci ball courts, pool tables, arcade, a full bar and a decent menu but the hotel allows group reservations for not just to reserve part of the facility but the entire thing! The 3 days I stayed I wasn’t able to partake in Bundox Bocci awesomeness because the entire time I was the wee it was taken! I would understand if it was just a court or two but not the entire place! Ridiculous!

Uniquely appointed hotel, classy yet fun. Gorgeous views of the Truckee River if you get an even-numbered room.

Rooms linked with a old fashioned touch of class. Service is exceptional.!The view is to die for, and the location is prime.

We love the Renaissance and stay here every time we visit Reno! Both the hotel and on-site restaurant (The Shore Room) are dog friendly. There is a Bocce restaurant/bar also onsite which was fun. The rooms are very comfortable and the decor trendy. Great views from the rooms and rooftop pool of downtown. The hotel is in a great location as well... Across the street from the car museum, right on the river, and walking distance to the casinos. The only issue we had during our stay was on the last night our air conditioner wasn't working properly

Had brunch here today it was fabulous! Sat outside on the river with a wonderful breezeAnd umbrellas overhead. Had amazing food (chilaquiles) that was on point. Our server, Shauna, was insanely amazing!!! Can’t wait to return. Thanks for being so wonderful.

A wonderful hotel with friendly staff. The location is bad and good. There are a few bad apple homeless folks around the area that can cause a disturbance but the hotel sits right on the river and it's a short walk to the casinos.Rooms: The Larger King room over looking the river is wonderful if you get it.Nearby activities: Casinos are about 6 blocks away. There is an auto museum across the street. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.Safety: They could improve the security by requiring room keys to access the back doors and the guest floors in the elevator.

This spa is fabulous! The spa staff is incredible and kind- and very knowledgeable about products. Everyone was very kind friendly and helpful- when you get a service you also get access to the entire spa including the sauna, reflection room, pool, and jacuzzi. Ginger (red head) is a fabulous manager and was very helpful. Couldn’t recommend a place more!

Currently booked in a 1 bedroom king suite. Sounds fancy? Not so much. The entire room looks like it’s missing furniture. The furniture that is there looks like it’s from a Hannibal Lecter movie.
