Biscuits and gravy the size of your head! For 20 bucks I had enough food for like 3 meals. Fantastic friendly staff and delicious huge portions for cheaper than most places in town. 10/10

We really stopped going to black Bear because the one on McCairn was/is horrible. We gave this Black Bear a try and they have redeemed Black Bear for us. Great service from Montana

Went to dinner for the first time to the diner and my daughter wanted the Santa pancakes advertised for Make a Wish and they didn’t have any strawberries to do it. I wanted a glass of prosecco and again didn’t have it. Instead offered other options so I went with the Sauvignon blanc and brings me a bottle instead of a glass even though I just wanted a glass. I ordered the Santa Maria TriTip medium done and received a well done. The side of green beans with bacon looked and tasted like they were from a can. The waitress Mandy who claimed is the manager of the night but not really a manager who assisted us charged me 5 something for a side of Cesar salad I wanted that came with a cornbread never brought me the cornbread even though I had asked to bring it. I asked for a refund since the cornbread was never brought to me and refused to refund me or bring me the cornbread. I told her I was unsatisfied with her service and would like my tip back she also refused to give me back my tip. She then accused me of being drunk when I only had half of the shareable bottle. During this whole situation she was rude and disrespectful. She claimed she was being “nice” by bringing me a bottle with a cap on it and shortly after was trying to take the bottle back after I have paid for it already. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant.

Cozy and comfortable with friendly staff and good fresh food. Prices are great for portion size and quality, and the restaurant is kept so clean. As someone new to the area I will most definitely love to come back.

I will never go to black bear ever again. Horrible experience.
Took my two children to eat breakfast last week.
Montana is the name of our server. I ordered an omelette and hashbrowns…I asked for extra crispy Hashbrowns. When our food was delivered to our table, it was not our waitress. It was another gentleman, and I noticed that my hashbrowns weren’t even brown. They were just very white. They weren’t crispy at all, so I waited and waited and I tried to eat very slow, but nobody came to check on us. Finally, I flagged somebody down, the gentleman in fact that brought our meals and showed him that I had ordered extra crispy hashbrowns so he said he would bring me a side of extra crispy hashbrowns what they brought back to my table was a plate, mostly of grease and what looked to be very dark brown crispy potatoes that they dropped in the deep grease. I only expected my hashbrowns to be grilled a little longer on the grill. I did not expect them to actually submerge my hashbrowns in a deep fryer of grease and then bring it back to my table. I couldn’t even have bitten one of them. They weren’t even french fries at that point because I really wanted my potatoes so I actually tried to eat a piece of it my waitress still didn’t come over. Finally I was able to get her attention. Our waters were empty the entire time that’s all we had to drink were waters. We didn’t want teas or sodas or orange juice. We just asked for water me and my daughter ordered the spicy omelette so of course we drank our water right away after a few bites and then just to get another glass of water took another 30 minutes. It was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at the Black Bear diner, the waitress Montana when she did come to deliver our check was very rude very short non-apologetic. I did tell the manager. She said she wanted to cover our meal, but we had money to pay for our meal. That’s the whole reason we went out to eat we were celebrating and I had the money and I could afford it. I’m in the service industry myself so I’m just very disappointed in my service there the manager was very nice. She gave us two meal vouchers. She was insistent upon it because I didn’t want a free meal. I didn’t want any comps. I just want somebody to train the servers when you drop food, You should definitely walk back over and check to make sure the plate or the order was correct and if it isn’t then it’s OK to say I’m sorry I didn’t write your order down correctly. I don’t know it was just by far one of the worst service experiences I’ve had and my food was OK obviously I didn’t get my hashbrowns.

I'm an oxygen technician. I just met one of my patients here. I did eat here about a year ago. Maybe longer. The food was really good. It was priced well so I'm going to give it four across the board
