This place has the most amazing kava. Reno Roots provides a very warm and welcoming environment. The new owners are a friendly young couple and super down to earth. Hands down the best kava bar I've ever been to, and I have been to many across different states. They don't water their drinks down and actually make them stronger than other kava places.

I recently visited Reno Roots, a charming little spot in Reno, and I was really impressed! Although I only tried the kava, it was incredibly strong and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. I can't wait to go back and try their boba next time! If you're in the area, definitely check it out for a unique drink experience!

I normally go to another place to get milk tea but most other places were already closed and I was craving something with boba. My first sip was really disappointing and it made me regret that I didn’t drive the extra ten minutes to the other shop that was open at the moment. The boba was different textures, mostly crumbly- just fell apart instead of being chewy like tapioca pearls should be, and then some that were almost correct but still partially tough. I had gotten two drinks, one for me and one for my partner. We were both very unhappy that I spent $20 on two drinks plus tip only for them to be probably the worst boba that either of us have had.

I expected some bomb boba for the price, came to a total of $10 after tip. I could’ve forgiven the price if my expectations were met, but instead I got the worst boba I’ve ever had in my life ? the pearls were badly cooked and tasted very strange. the tea itself was overly sweet and this is coming from someone that eats tubs of frosting and Nutella with a spoon. They have a great environment and everyone was very kind but at the end of the day you come to a tea shop for the tea.

Love this place! In addition to the fact that their boba and tea selection is outstanding, they always do a great job making people feel welcome and have created a great sense of community with providing a comfortable hangout spot close to the University. They always have great specials too. Highly recommend checking them out!
