Food poisoning on multiple beef dishes. Sent a few dishes back that had an obvious “rancid odor.”
Most other dishes served were barely edible. Texture, quality of proteins, and flavors all were subpar.
Major disappointment.
I had reasonable expectations (not expecting to be astonished by the cuisine ) for a restaurant that serves a large varietal menu of Japanese and Chinese cuisine but this food was terrible.
Mediocre service for a family celebration, wasn’t that busy so not sure the reason for lacking service.

Slow service plan accordingly. Food is good with large portions. Our server was great however our order came out wrong a few times, not entirely sure if it was the servers fault or not. They made this right and compensated for issues by clearing charges for those items.
I would go again, but most likely would not go when they are busy or if I were pressed for time.

We've had dinner here a few times, and this night wasn't as good as others. They were very busy and service was uneven. Some dishes weren't served correctly (like sushi brought to the table without any wasabi in a small dish to use with it. We had to wait for the dishes to be brought.) Food was a bit disappointing this time. Had a seared ahi salad and it had only three very small pieces of ahi! Wait time for drinks was much longer than usual, probably because the bar was busy too. Guess we've been lucky to go on days when they were less busy!
Made 6:00 reservations for my husband's birthday dinner at RIm's prior to the GSR BritFloyd concert as it accommodates both carnivore and vegan. There were 4 in our party, 2 vegans and 2 carnivores. Upon arrival (6:05) the table was not ready so we waited. As a line grew I watched people arriving well after us being seated at tables and in booths! Now I'm starting off irritated. It took more than 15 minutes before we were seated. Sharing 2 menus because they were short menus we made our selections. We order 3 alcoholic drinks which were promptly served. My vegan order included spicy edamame (to share) Rim house salad, Baddha's bowl with rice and a vegan Maki Energy roll. I asked for my salad to be delivered with the edamame appetitizer. The edamame was delivered to our table not by our waiter...no salad. Then our food came out maybe 15 minutes later, still no salad. My VEGAN Maki roll was served on a plate in the middle of 2 rows of fish sushi! While this was sent back to fix, I'm sure they just moved it to another plate so not eating that. The waiter arrived and I told him no salad served, take it off the bill. He asked if we wanted more drinks and we did not. I hadn't notice yet there was no rice on my Baddha's plate. At the end of the meal, one of the carnivore's had a container of rice I guess we were supposed to share? I was starved when I left! My husband mentioned no wasabi or dipping sauce was served with his fish sushi. If I learned anything, it's not to go here when they are busy...really sucked.
They were super busy and had absolutely horrible service. To be fair, the couple sitting next to us did have a much more attentive waitress, so I think it was just ours. We had to ask for napkins and chopsticks. Our water was empty all during dinner had to ask multiple times having it refilled. This was hard as well because the waitress is also the one who orders apps for you on the AYCE. Overall, wish it would have been better service since it was a birthday meal, and no birthday recognition or desert even though I put it on the reservation.
We drive up to Reno couple times a month always stay at Grand Sierra and have at least one meal at the Asian Rim. Never disappoints us snd our waitress is awesome. The books are great as well. Thank you for always making out experience Great.
My husband and I were at the resort for a wedding and wanted a unique experience since we were child-free and enjoy trying new things. Rim did not disappoint! We happened to be there for all-you-can eat Sushi....what.a.deal. The fish was super fresh and sushi chef was providing plates to us about every few minutes. Definitely recommend it. Host (and likely manager) were happy to accommodate us on anything and everything.
We waited over 20 minutes just to get water. Another 20 minutes to place an order. Another 20 minutes and the order came out wrong. Service was horrible. Rice was cold. Soup was the worse I have ever had in any Asian Restaurant.
Our server took our order, our soup and appetizers were out quickly and good , but that's where it gets ugly. Our server was nowhere to be seen for 45 minutes until another table had the same experience so they complained to the manager. After our appetizers and soup, we were supposed to order our entree, but we waited so long, we just wanted to leave.
We enjoyed the food very much. I think we may have had a new server, sadly our order was messed up.

Slow wait to get drink order delivered. Took a while to take our orders but good booth seat, terrific food and cocktails tasty once they finally arrived
Very loud, and it felt like you were in the casino inhaling all the smoke. Food was overpriced for what it was, no better than any cheaper all you can eat sushi place in town. Chinese dishes average as well. Took forever to get cocktails.
We were meeting family we hadn't seen in a long time for dinner, and this location was convenient. The menu was quite extensive with something for everybody. Everyone liked their meals and the shared desserts. Portions were generous. The music was quite loud, as it seemed to be everywhere at GSR, making conversation challenging. Wait staff were professional and friendly. Our only complaint was that we felt that they were trying to rush us out at 8:30 (from a 7:30 reservation), even though the restaurant was practically empty on a Wednesday night, and we did order drssert. Nonetheless, everyone had a good time and we would recommend this restaurant.
Unfortunately I can not rate the food or the atmosphere. My party of 8 arrived at the hostess station at 5:10 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant looked empty. There was a large table that was empty towards the front. I asked the hostess if they had a table for 8 and she started to look on her computer. In the meantime the manager walked up behind me. He looked at our party and immediately told me there was no open tables. He then looked at my friend and glared. It appeared that the manager did not like the look of our party. The dress code is casual and we were in jeans and ranch wear. The manager then told me that it would be some time between 7 and 9:30 pm before we could be seated. The restaurant closes at 9 pm on Sundays. The manager was rude and curt. The manager kept staring at my party like he couldn't wait to get us out of there. Knowing we weren't wanted we left. We decided we did not want to spend our money in the Grand Sierra Resort. A party of 8 would have generated several hundred dollars in this meal. I won't go back to GSR.

The Lobster in the Lobster rolls was the toughest I have ever experienced, had to be imitation meat. I was not able to eat them nor was my guest. This seemed to be more of a fast food quality. The cost for 2 was $113 and we both felt the food at our local Asian restaurant's was far better quality for $30-$35 for 2. Will not return.
