While the prices are cheaper, you're getting what you pay for. Out of the 4 steaks we ordered, 2 were grossly over cooked and had to be sent back. The presentation is sloppy and entrees underseasoned. I do not recommend eating here if you want a steak dinner. There are much better steakhouses in town.

We had a really disappointing experience at Ruby River Steakhouse in Reno. Our server barely checked on us — I had to ask for a second drink myself, and she didn’t even bother asking if my husband wanted another. She also completely forgot his side dish, and by the time we realized she wasn’t coming back, he was already over it and didn’t even want to chase it down.

She only had maybe two tables, yet I still had to get up and ask for our check… which meant interrupting her while she was sitting three tables away eating her own steak dinner with coworkers. We also had to listen to their gossip the whole time. Super unprofessional.

The food was mediocre at best — neither of us finished our meals and we didn’t take leftovers. The floors were dirty and looked like they hadn’t been maintained at all, even though there were plenty of employees hanging around the bar chatting instead of working.

Overall, definitely not worth the visit. We won’t be back.

It was my birthday and I was in the mood for prime rib - it had been a few years. Spouse and I went on a Saturday evening and were seated within about 10 minutes. Prime rib MR, Caesar and shrooms were all pretty good. Spouse got shrimp - really good, she ate every bit. It was a nice evening. Service was prompt, food arrived hot - that's a pet peeve and Ruby was good. Grated horseradish on the prime rib was a nice touch. The restaurant is larger than it looks from the outside, busy and a little loud, but it was a Saturday night.

We sat at the bar. Bar could have been cleaner. Wasn’t busy. I had prime rib with baked potato and French onion soup. Prime was very good and so was the soup. The inside of the baked potato was good but the exterior skin was very different. It almost appeared fried. My friend said the same.
Buddy had a ribeye and he didn’t enjoy it. Said it was very grisly. Service was good. Price was reasonable.

WARNING THIS PLACE IS GROSS. We ordered 2 9oz bacon wrapped filet mignon medium rare. One was so rare it made my friend sick and was inedible and one was so over cooked there was no pink in it. I gagged it down because it was my wife’s birthday and I did not want to upset her. I was not impressed with the service.they took our order ,brought out food and brought a check. We got no refills on our drinks. We couldn’t even address the miss cooked food because the waiter never came back. There are too many good steak houses in Reno to waste money here.

A much better option for Prime Rib than the Casino Buffet the night before. Don’t let the worn out condition of the big sign out front deter you from stepping on in. Everything was good. The baked potato is called ā€œjacketedā€, a baked potato that looks like it has been deep fried after being dipped in a batter. The filet mignon was good as well. Some places don’t the rare and medium rare right, but ruby did just fine. I compare my Prime Rib against the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco, open for 75 years, it ā€˜s in the running and the have more options on the menu.

Our server was attentive, friendly, and conversational, but not overly so as to get in the way.

Looked at reviews before I went to this restaurant at 4.3 stars when we attended it there in previous comments is complaining about the restaurant I think all of those comments is were false I had no issues with this restaurant. I would refer family and friends to eat here Aidan our server was excellent. Next time I’m in Reno. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. I had the baby back ribs and they were and they were cooked perfectly. My wife had the 6 ounce sirloin it was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly everything food wise to say great in the ambience, and Atmosphere was great amazing.
