We loved going to Sakana and have gone there about four times. The last time we went, everything was as normal. The service wasn't great, but I mostly care about the food being good. We chose not to leave a tip this time. I was looking at our transactions the week after while I was budgeting and THEY CHARGED US A TIP!! I've never had this happen before. It is so dishonest. We will never go here again.

The food was great, but the service was pretty bad. One server on a Wednesday. We arrived around 5pm, didn't wait too long to get a table but we waited for 15 minutes to put in our drink order and another 15 minutes to get our drinks and slips of paper to put in our order. Thats 30 minutes waiting for just a drink. We already figured we'd have to be patient since theres only 1 server. We got our appetizers, another 30-40 minutes after that. 1 hour in.
We didn't see our server again for about 40 minutes and then we politely mention our food hasn't arrived and it's been a long time (almost 2 hours of waiting to eat). Tables that came in after us got served first. We finally got our food almost 2 hours later. However, a few items were wrong but we didn't care we were hungry and ate the delicious food. We never got checked on again by our server. Luckily there was a food runner who was able to get us water and our check. We assumed our ticket got lost, and unfortunately had a very bad experience dining out at this location.

We placed an order for pickup at Sakana Sushi and they gave our food to the wrong person. The restaurant then refused to remake the order. Unfortunate to see how Sakana has declined over the years.

Bad service . Servers didn’t ask if we wanted refills. Didn’t care of our table. Food took too long.
They kept cleaning the tables with straight Clorox and it made us nauseous.
Hire people that actually want to provide customer service.
Don’t charge so much for a few left over pieces.
Mussels are not all you can eat.

The worst service I have ever received. I have eaten at other sushi places here in Reno and they had never told me that if I didn't eat three pieces of sushi, they would charge me more on my bill. The service was terrible with a couple of women who were incompetent when it came to talking to customers.

Foods good. Sushi is left sitting there for no reason(about 10+ minutes). Id rather eat it right away

Usually this is my go to for the nearest AYCE Sushi for decent price and service but my past experience recently this week had put a bad taste in my mouth in terms of service as while I understand there are other tables, it was not a busy night and while I don't usually like making bad reviews ,the service was not the best.
I was kept waiting far longer than the usual the other times I would come in and some of my food items never came. Then wanting to simply leave early because of other tables that came after me having a more friendly service compared to the cold and practically negligent servers.
Hopefully it isn't a new bad trend with the attitude of the service because the food itself was not a issue, when I did actually get it 15 - 20 mins later. Will not go to again.

Bad. We ordered only a few orders but they forgot one of them, eventhough its not that busy. And NEVER order the korean ramen here because they just gave you the one exactly in the package that you can buy in any markets. Never come back.

Don’t come for dinner. Lunch service is amazing. Dinner was absolutely terrible. Service was slow and we were asked four times if we wanted wasabi and ginger, which never came. Then they brought us the wrong meal and then charged us for it. Don’t waste your time and money here.
