Food was very bland and way over priced. Not only that we ordered water and we got a 4 ounce size cup.

I cannot say enough about how lovely Smees is! One of my absolute favorite places to go, the food is always fresh and delicious. Every thing i order always looks great ! I cannot say enough about this place, if you have not tried Smees you are missing out!

Smee's Alaskan Fish Bar
Too expensive to visit more than once in a lifetime. The place was completely empty when I arrived, and after seeing their prices, I understand why. The food was nothing exceptional — certainly not worth $26.00 for two pieces of fish and fries, especially when it’s served in a Styrofoam container. I left wishing I had gone elsewhere to spend my money.

They won't be in business long ...not with those prices ...not with the one star reviews growing by the day. And not in a neighborhood with Carl Jr , Wendy's, Burger King and McDonald's. I wonder what made them think this was a good idea.

First, they blocked me on social media for a FAIR bad review, so have fun trying to delete this one!
4% fee for credit card use in 2025 is CRAZY. So is $20 for 2 pieces of fish and mediocre fries. You'll get a tiny tartar sauce for maybe 3 bites of fish, you'll pay again for more. If doing fresh caught wild cod, maybe a better business plan than a Long John Silver's drive through with Styrofoam containers and nit picky fees everywhere would make sense for these prices. At the end of the day, it's still just fried white fish.

I've been here a few times and last time we were here we were passed up multiple times. We were served about 40 minutes after arrival, that was just water. Our server apologized to us.
We decided to give Smees another try and it was the worst. We were seated and our server was very polite. We understood that it was crowded and decided to be patient and have a few drInks while waiting for the crowd to die down. As the crowd died down we then placed our order. We sat there for 2 hours and did not receive our food. Our server approached us and apologized while telling us our food (2 dozen fresh oysters) would be coming soon. Another worker came up beside her and proceeded to tell us how the kitchen had closed a half hour ago. We were comped with 6 oysters because their schucker messed up an order. 2 hour wait for oysters and then told the kitchen had closed? Very disappointing and very unprofessional. Meanwhile we remained patient and polite even after seeing people who arrived AFTER us receive their orders. Just WOW!
It's right on the river and beautiful. There's a bartender there who makes the BEST Bloody Mary. I wish I could remember his name! The food is just okay. I wish they stayed open later.

Great food. Everything was very tasty and fresh. Very good service and great view of the river. That was the best restaurant on the river I eat at while in Reno. Will definitely go back and recommend
