Great food, service and ambience. They have a really good menu and priced very well. So glad we have NV Steak house in south Reno. We love looking out onto their beautiful gardens.
The food had an off night, especially the meatball and spaghetti. The french onion soup missed the mark, too.
Tried the Sunset Dinner. 3 course meal (only between 4:30 & 5:30pm). I had the “$5 upgrade” to the New York Steak, it was cooked perfectly! It was great! Service was wonderful. Their regular menu is wonderful as well. Our go to place for a great meal or for taking out of town visitors to.
The restaurant is located inside the Tamarack casino. Once inside the noise of the casino is gone and it is very nice traditional steakhouse décor. Our service was excellent from the beginning at the host stand, all the way threw the dinner. Our waitress Taylor was very energetic and responsive to our needs. The Chef Mike was there and visited with us at the table. The food was top notch, my NY Steak was cooked perfect. The pickled vegetable appetizer and sourdough bread were delicious. My girlfriend had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, she too said it was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful date night.
For the second time in 3 months my steak was such poor quality that I couldn't finish it. My bone in New York steak was mostly fat and gristle. It had so much gristle that it was difficult to cut into pieces and then I couldn't eat most pieces because of the poor quality. I didn't complain because they would have most likely offered to give me another option and my wife was already done with most of her meal and I didn't want to wait for a replacement.
In addition to a great meal and excellent service Nevada Steak had red rose petals on our table for our anniversary. We are very happy it's close to home and never disappoints.
Kathy was perfect- made us feel very special and attentive as well celebrated our anniversary dinner. Food was top notch!!! Highly recommend.
Food was absolutely outstanding. Service was phenomenal. Environment was extremely good. Definitely be back.
We were looking for a decent steak house in South Reno. Yelp reviews were just ok, so we hesitated. I'm glad we decided to give it a try. This place is really good, really good. I had a ribeye and my wife had the pork chop. The steak was just amazing, grilled to perfect and full of flavor. The pork chop was even better, just wow, amazing taste. Definitely with the visit.
We tried the early bird Dinner and enjoyed very much. I had shrimp scampi and guest had the NY Steak at a $5 up charge. Steak was a little grizzly and not to tender. Also had Lamb chops off the regular menu, these were excellent. 3 lollipop chops with a nice mint brown sauce. Lobster bisque and salads very very good. Crème brûlée was traditional and quite good. Choc Sundae also very good. Bread is ok, lacks texture. Butter is herbed, nice touch. Server was Mary and she was spot on and room is very pleasant. This was a good experience and will return.

We were greeted warmly and the table had red rose petals on it to celebrate our anniversary. The food portions were big and the food was excellent. I've never had a restaurant cook by steak to exactly what I like but the chef hit it perfectly. The quality of the food was excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere in the room was okay...nothing special. Will definitely go back!!
The party of 4 next to our both were very loud. Other than that everything was great. And Nicole and AJ were wonderful.
We enjoy the sunset dinner, great value. However in past we would take our dessert home to enjoy with TV when the main course had settled. Now they forbid this and make you stuff or leave dessert behind. A bit off putting
Sunset dinners great value Soup or salad , entree and dessert Plus Sunset wine prices Highly recommend Tamarack Steak House
Had the sunset dinner special. Steak was a little overcooked and very grizzled. The green beans were almost raw; the Steak knife couldn't cut through them without tremendous effort. Once cut to size, it was too exhausting to chew them, so they were left on the plate. On the other hand, the salad and the mashed potatoes were delicious, as well as the hot fudge Sunday. Overall somewhat dissappointing.
