It's been some years since I ate here. The last time they were closed due to covid. Hopefully, when I come to visit again soon they will be open. The food is good and seafood night is my favorite.

This was always one of our favourite buffets, we really hope and pray that it will come back some day.

We went to Eldorado, not knowing it was closed for remodeling. As far as I know, the name will be changed and thus the signs directing people there.

I am beyond disappointed at this buffet. My family: 2 adults, my 8 months, 3 years and 5 years old wanted to just get away and eat some seafood. We got go the buffet and made to reserved a time. We were told it was going to be a 1.5 hours wait. Coming from California we agreed to wait.. We provided our name and cell phone # to be reached when table was ready. My lilo family decided to go across the free way to the shopping center across the hotel. After shopping for 30 minutes we recieved a text that our table was rsvp for us for the next 10 minutes, and if we needed more time to text back. We got there before 10 minutes. We paid and were directed to our table right away. I prepared my 8 months a bottle and feed him while baby daddy got food for the 3 and 5 years old. After feeding my son, I went to get my food. The serving staff will give you the food you just got to tell then what you want and how much.. As I was sitting down after getting my food, a staff came to our table and told us they will be putting the food away to prepared for the dinner for customer in 45 minutes. We looked at the time and said to our self.. 45 minutes that is a long enough time. Baby Daddy got up right away to grab another plate of food.. he came back said they are putting the food away already and if I wanted to grab some more food, to go now... I got up quick.. like a spider in my pants quick... as I walked to the food area all the food was gone!! Put away!!! Disappeared... All the food personal was also in the back.. no one was in the front.. I walked back very disappointed.. I felt so sad. We were there at the buffet for less than 15 minutes!! If the cashiers told us, they were closing to prepared for dinner customers and xx amount of time, we would have waited for dinner, instead. It would have allowed us more time to eat and giving us time to relax.. I was rushed, didn't get a chance to enjoy my meal... I love food!! I don't like it when I am rushed especially when I pay 100ish bucks to go in and did not get a chance to enjoy my food. Very disappointing. I believed this could have been better communicated to the customers. I wished the customers are aware and have a choice for the next round of customer. Speading 100ish bucks on 2.5 plate was a disappointment. I will NOT be going back for a long time.. I felt like I was robbed.. on my FOOD!!! Yes.. food is very serious to me.. overall the negative stars are due to the following: the lack of communications, closing the food early, paying over 100 bucks. If someone asked me "How was the food?" I wouldn't know what to say...

Now It's now been a little while since I've been to "Reno" because of the current situation at hand, but I been having this review waiting for such a time. Downtown Reno is changing, and with it some things that I've loved has come and gone. And when staying at a Casino/Resort a main part of the attraction is not just the slot machines and bars, "Food" is a big incentive. I personally like eating where I stay. With the now closure of "Flavors The Buffet" in the Silver Legacy, that leaves just "2" buffets in Downtown Reno (Not speaking for the buffets at Atlantis & Peppermill which is Midtown), "Carvings Buffet" inside Harrah's (See my review) and " The Buffet" inside Eldorado. Now I'm going to let you know why in my opinion, "The Buffet" is the one, hence the name."The Buffet"Location - Eldorado RenoFood - VariousPrice - $29.22The Buffet:So I actually had the chance to go to Reno back in March and lucky me it was before the current shelter in place. I went Sunday the 9th I had saved my appetite just to visit "The Buffet" after reading some reviews and decided it was where I wanted to go. This buffet serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and have different prices and themes for the offering each day. Sunday happens to be the "Mexican Buffet" for the Dinner hours and based off your membership level, the price varies. For me being a basic member, the price was $26.99 which comes out too $29.22 with the added tax. If you're not too familiar with the Eldorado, this buffet may be kinda tricky to find, but lucky for me throughout the years I've always known where it is.... although this time happened to be my first ever visit. Just up the escalator, past the wishing fountain and "Roxy" and you'll see this establishment. So "Mexican Dinner" night at a Casino Resort, sounds good right? Well, it was delicious. Usually at buffets you kinda get what you pay for, if you're a regular at a particular one you like, then you know. This was my first time here and I loved the menu and the offerings. The stand out dish for me was the "Chile Verde" which was made with spare ribs and captured everything I like about this dish in general. They had other fair that I sampled, but I did also partake in BBQ ribs, which was tender and amazing mushroom ravioli accompanied by the mushroom sauce....yes. even though it was "Mexican Dinner" night, they did still have Prime Rib and other carving table options and Asian Food offerings. All which were delicious and I did partake in some dessert. Cool thing about this buffet although I didn't get any because my lactose sensitivity, they have housemate gelato here. It looked great, perhaps next time when I have my lactaid with me.In Closing:I would recommend "The Buffet" to anyone looking for a great place to eat with an array of options. If you're a member of the Eldorado Resorts (Eldorado, Silver Legacy, Circus Circus) "One Club" card program and have one of the various different card levels your discount could be greater. I personally consider this place my buffet of choice from now on. I personally can't wait till the nation opens back up, of course in a timely mannor, and I can go back to the "City of Reno" and when I get hungry...."The Buffet" will definitely be on my places to eat list.

I am not a big fan of buffet, but I have to say, this one knocked it out of the park......Due to current virus scare, you no longer serve yourself, the chef does, so no grimy hands on utensils..... My drink never went empty, the food was fresh and flavorful.... Your options were great, and they can accommodate large parties...

Not good at all. Disappointed. We've eaten here before and quality has fallen greatly. Sweet server though!

Meh, lots of food and lots of crab legs, but everything is just okay. Ribs are dry, sushi typical of a buffet. Nothing worth $80 for a couple here.

Are you kidding!?! There is NO NEED to rate this place it's an obvious TEN across the board and I'm so glad we took the kiddos. Totally worth every penny. The beef chow mein, the pepperoni PIZZA I mean COME ON! The only downside cold shrimp and the crab legs are so skinny it's almost not worth it to work to get to the meat. Other than that everyone found something for themselves and every child was happy! That's just about unheard of!

GUYS?!!! How can these guys have a higher star rating than Island buffet at the Peppermill? Okay, I understand the staff and waiters are great people and are on top of seating, hosting, and cleaning tables but, come on?! Their food? Oh no, no, no. I'm going to start off from their "hot crab" disappointing. Man, I was expecting to have FRESH hot crab for paying $37 bucks! Otherwise, I would've gone to cash and carry and grabbed me a 10lb box and boil it at home. STALE! I hate to be "that person" but, I'm Polynesian and I love my crab a certain way and stale is NOT one of the ways. Lol! Prime rib, (compared to Peppermill buffet) is okay, nothing to drool over. I must've overestimated my buffet expectations. I really expected the prime rib to at least "melt in my mouth" HA! Nope. Desserts were also stale and seemed like they were sitting out for a few days. Tasted funny too. Gee, really if it wasn't for the staff, I'd probably give this place a one star rating. I also expected it to be really busy on a Friday night. There wasn't a wait or even a line. The cashiers were really friendly and helpful. Waiters and busters did a great job at their job. I dont think I can say the same about the chiefs though. Maybe we came on a bad Friday?! The food tasted like someone was in a stressful mood. Just saying. Either way, dont think we will be returning back. Sad to say. Pricing isn't the issue, for me. It's food not being worth the price. If that makes sense. P.S. they need to do some dusting and cob web cleaning at least before serving. I'm pretty sure the spider hanging over my plate climbed back up because, it too wasn't impressed with the food.

The Eldorado Buffet is a great deal, although the prices reflect the change in Reno's visitor over the last 2-3 decades. It was once true that the Silver Legacy, Circus Circus and Eldorado all offered great buffets at super low prices. This reflected the desire to attract gamblers. Ever since the proliferation casinos in most states and jurisdictions (few of which offered Nevada's quality pay tables, but that's a different conversation), the three casinos above are now all owned by the same company and nicknamed "The Row" because they are all connected. The Buffet is still good, but the price is premium. Even a top level card holder will pay at least $15 per plate, and "normal" people can expect $25 to $30 per plate. Expensive, and meant to stay that way. Still, its a good meal and top quality food.

There's enough food there that you will find something you like. However, it's not normal for me to try something I like elsewhere and not want to eat it. but that is what happens here more often than not. They have yet to fix the lighting: I like to be able to see my food instead of looking like someone placed s poorly lit spotlight over the table.
