Pub n sub has been a Reno/UNR tradition for 50+ years. Every UNR student knows it as a place to get pizza, sandwiches and other bar food. They have a great patio out front and a nice area in the back for those crowded nights. The Bacon Cheeseburger was outstanding, the sandwich my wife ordered was good and the salad our friend had looked tasty. Not living in the area has limited my visits to several years apart but they still do a great job. The atmosphere is college bar/restaurant and they should never change it.

I used to come here TWICE A WEEK for the cheesesteak and those legendary seasoned fries. Used to. Then someone decided it was a good idea to replace perfection with these new battered, greasy, oil-soaked impostors they’re calling fries.
These things aren’t fries! They’re soggy regret sticks. I didn’t order tempura sadness. I ordered CRISPY seasoned fries, not something that feels like it was dunked in a deep fryer, taken out, put back in, and then emotionally neglected.
The cheesesteak is still amazing, which honestly makes this even more painful. It’s like watching a favorite band still play great songs but ruin the encore on purpose.
Fix the fries. Bring back the old ones. Do the right thing.
Also employee Emma Brown stole my Zyns while I was there and vanished like a ghost into the kitchen.

Burned solidified god knows what in my food that almost broke a tooth. Owner said it was burned food particles due to them not cleaning their stove enough. Yum!! Avoid.

Me and my hubby had been going here for over a year at least once a week and we had gotten food for us and family that came to visit and we got food poisoning that sent one of us to the hospital. We called to let them know but also ask for a refund since we got severely ill. We haven't heard anything back even though we called multiple times. I will never go again due to the lack of response and responsibility when 3 people got sick
