Toucan Charlie's Buffet & Grille

I had a terrible experience here. When I checked in, the front desk lady told me she would place my ticket on the table for me. When I sat down, there was no ticket on the table. I had no idea where the ticket was, and when the server asked, I let them know honestly. That wasn’t an issue.

The problem came when management got involved. The front desk lady was literally pointing at me and looking at the manager to confirm that I had paid. They stood there pointing at me for several minutes, making it absolutely clear that I had paid. Yet the manager still came over and accused me of not paying.

His attitude was unprofessional, rude, and completely unnecessary. Instead of resolving a simple mistake — the fact that my ticket wasn’t placed on the table — he treated me like I was trying to get away with something. That completely ruined my appetite, and I ended up leaving without finishing my visit.

No customer should ever be treated this way, especially when the front desk had already confirmed I paid. The lack of professionalism from management was unacceptable

Seafood buffet not worth the $58, crab seemed old couldn't crack it it just smashed when trying to crack it. Shrimp are small. Don't know how they won an award

Burners beware. Things have changed. Stay away from here if you don’t want random unessasary issues with the law. Bull crap! So messed up. We walked in with champagne. They allowed it until they knew we were burners. Unfair treatment

This is one of the best buffets I’ve ever been to. Great food and great selection of desserts 😋. Most of the employees are nice and friendly too except for Jackie she’s a bit rude but other than that I absolutely love toucan Charlie’s buffet! I come here every time I go to Atlantis in Reno

God it's been 9 years since I been here last time I was here I brought my girlfriend here. Just got to point this out want to relax and have a great atmosphere then come to this casino because it's worth it always cold beer on tap I have have great luck gambling here have hit a crazy jackpot more then once clean bathroom alway being taking care of around the clock love the music playing in this casino I ran into a situation where I needed water badly and this casino help me out with that no questions asked and free of charge people care here! Back in the day when I was a child we would play in the arcade area and have a great time the security guards would keep an eye out for us kids playing in that arcade! We had an adult looking at children in that arcade back in my day security was not nice to that individual and escorted that guy out the casino right away because security knew he was up to no good! I'm a firm believer you are more then safe here not one time did I feel unsafe at all and for people like me with more than one disability it's a great feeling big time. Now this is the best part of this casino the buffet worth the price and I don't care if I have to wait to get in it's worth it food was more than just great it was out of this world fresh dishes out that kitchen and new dishes placed out on that line with the quickness clean tables to sit at drinks replaced right away this is an upper scale casino and you can tell the difference when you walking been going to this casino ever since I was a child and I have seen what it has transformed into I would hate to know the value of what this casino is worth I would probably pass out.

Seems that here waitresses are forbidden from smiling. Food is ok i guess, prime rib was very undercook and dry, not sure how they did that lol. But not worth it for the price they charge. I do NOT recommend this place.

Plenty of options, prime rib, chicken, shrimp and all sorts of salads. Asian, Mexican, and American types of food. Prime rib rather tough and ribs were dry. Overall ok for $35 lunch buffet price.

We came on a prime rib today and the first one was the most dry, sad, and pitiable chunk of meat I've ever had the displeasure of eating. The second was somewhat better but lacked flavor and seasoning. Lack of seasoning actually applies to 70% of the menu.

BBQ ribs? Melt in your mouth and tangy. Fried shrimp? Amazing. Antipasto? Delicious. Desserts? Plentiful and varied.

Shu mai? Disquieting. Steak? A lump of wood. Shrimp cakes? Mashed potatoes? Lasagna? Textures from hell.

Ham? Well you can't screw up a ham.

If you want all that you can eat this place will provide it. Just choose wisely. And be sure to make a reservation.

We got here an hour before they opened to make sure we had a spot in line. Unfortunately thay did not matter because pre-paying people got to skip the line once they opened. This is something they did not inform us about. This ruined our experience before it even started. We will not return.

Every time we come to Reno, we always make it a point to eat here because it is the best buffet. Everything is fresh and they have so many different options to choose from. Friday is snow, crab, and fresh oysters.

Staff is always friendly and attentive.

Camilla gave outstanding customer service to us when we arrived to pay.

The food is good, but the service left a poor impression. If it’s your first time at the hotel and you don’t have an elite or other privileged status, be prepared to wait in line for 20 minutes or even more, even if you’re first in your line, because the cashiers will prioritize guests with status memberships.

Not whole lot of selection for the price you pay. First time being here and with good reviews, I guess my expectations were too high. Much less selection compare to my local Chinese/Japanese buffet that serves seafood. I guess buffet now days are just not worth going for most folks. Peppermill had much better buffet until they decided to close the place down. I would not revisit Toucan anytime in the near future nor recommend to anyone. This seems to be the trend. Prices and quality seems to go opposite.
