This place was seemed very nice and then our first rolls came. They looked like a 7 year old kid made them. The sushi was warm even though it was supposed to be fresh. The sushi makers kept staring at me and my family and seemed very out of it. All the sushi tasted the exact same and none of it was good. Super disappointed to pay for this food and won’t be going back EVER. Please don’t make the same mistake and go somewhere else. !
Would not recommend. Went here with some friends and there was a roach crawling around at the bar we were eating at. Dude squished it with a rag. The sushi isn’t that great either compared to anywhere else. Lucky we aren’t the type to get scared off by a roach but the sushi ain’t good either so no point in going.
Seems like its under new management. The food was over priced and the quality is down. I ordered a $14 roll and it looked more like a $6 roll. The staff seemed unprofessional with no energy. The energy inside is just not the same as it use to be. The front desk looked sloppy and there was debri on the ground. Years ago it was opposite of everything mentioned. Don't listen to the good reviews on here they have probably never ate at a normal restaurant ??
I wish I could leave a lower rating but had to leave a star. I also feel bad for the owners because I am a business owner myself and rely on positive reviews to help but felt it was necessary to say something. We had a party of 4 for a reservation today and upon arrival, was about 9 minutes early to the reservation time but was told we couldn't be seated until the allotted time. Mind you, there was only one other table being occupied. 2 in our party were pregnant and I'm recovering from a stroke so have to take a daily aspirin which thins my blood and we had to wait in below freezing temps until our reservation. When we went back in, they told us we couldn't be seated even though we had a confirmation . Like I mentioned, there was only one other party in there. During these co-vid times and businesses suffering I would've thought they wanted the business.
Everything started out really well here, and the only thing that bummed me out was that they were out of sake. The appetizers were fantastic, and the first 3 rolls (and nigiri) were awesome. Then we got to the 49er and Komodo rolls. The description on both of these includes a "smoked sauce," which sounded really interesting and good. However, that was not the case. The moment my husband and I put the sushi in our mouths, we almost instantly wanted to spit it out. The texture was terrible, and it tasted like they mixed butane and rubber right in the roll. There was no delightful smokey flavor at all, and I'm almost positive that all they did was char spicy mayo ?. It was so awful that we almost weren't able to finish the rest of our good rolls. I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't for those rolls. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere for the sheer fact that I would be afraid to accidentally order any rolls with the "smoked sauce." The only reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 is because the first part of the dinner was great.
We lived in Japan for many years. Going to Wasabi is like going back! The all you can eat sushi is a treat! So authentic! Excellent
Does not answer messages or their phone. They even saw my messages but diddnt respond. Price for all you can eat is not listed anywhere. Not even sure if they are open or not.
Good Food and always give us great service.
The food was awesome , my service was awesome . When passing through states id definitely go back for more !
Very slow service from order to table.Received the wrong order.Hovering staff: could not go 2 minutes (not an exaggeration) without being asked how everything was, even when we hadn't received our order. Even when we did have food, we could not enjoy our meal without being constantly interrupted. Will not be returning.
Restaurantji Recommends
Absolutely Amazing, the fish was fresh, the rolls where the best in town, the kids had so much fun, the all the chefs were above and beyond. The service was fast, kind and always checking our table.
Previous reviews made me hesitant to try, but nom nom nom! They were on it today!! Loved everything about it and will certainly go back!
Awful. NOT a Japanese Restaurant. Will never go again.
I would not recommend this place. With this sushi being on the south side, you would think that this would be a good sushi place to try. Sushi was not good to compare to the competition. We ordered mussels, and they brought out some out after a while, then they said they ran out. Then we ordered mochi, and they said they ran out as well. There were only a few people inside, and when we called earlier, they said they were not busy all day. I don't get it why we have to pay all you can eat and not get what is promised. Water tastes terrible as well. Kids were running in and out of the kitchen, which is not professional. I told them that the menu is misspelled and words, but off to help give them feedback to improve. The response was, yeah, we know. I had to let people know what to expect. I hope this helps.
Jesus. I've had bad sushi but this place taught me that there is always something worse. I have eaten sushi at different restaurants in different parts of the country (I'm from San Francisco, CA) from New Orleans to Oregon. And this place is hands down the worst sushi I've ever had.I had a long day today and was craving sushi and this just ruined it. The rice is super hard and dry, the fish taste old, and the sauce they included is basically some sticky form of bbq sauce. I'm sorry, totally not worth the $40+ for 4 rolls. I should have walked to 7-11 and bought sushi there instead.
