We had a deeply disappointing experience at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Buffet while celebrating my mother’s birthday. Our party of nine waited in line for over an hour, only to be treated with complete disregard by the manager, Vasco. When it was finally our turn, he abruptly told us, “we don’t have anything available for 9 people,” and refused to even attempt to accommodate us. I suggested splitting into smaller groups (4 and 5) so at least part of my family could be seated, and he reluctantly allowed four of us in. However, while the rest of us continued to wait for a table, the manager bypassed us entirely and admitted three separate families of four — a total of twelve people — ahead of us. If he was able to seat them, he certainly could have seated our remaining five. When I pointed out the unfairness and even offered to take a table for four and forgo a chair so my family could eat, he flatly refused again. When I asked to speak with a higher manager, he stated that he was the manager, giving the impression that he could act with impunity. His lack of professionalism, courtesy, and fairness left us feeling disrespected and mistreated on what was meant to be a special occasion. Hospitality should be about finding solutions, showing empathy, and treating all guests with dignity. Instead, we experienced the opposite. This incident not only ruined a family celebration but also highlighted concerning behavior from someone in a leadership role. The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino should not allow a manager to treat paying guests this way.
Too many irregularities with service and communication. Put clean the room door tag on outside door, came back later, not cleaned, nada. Called and was told I had to call front desk for room cleaning. Asked what door tag was for, was told didn't mean anything. Have never had to call for room cleaning, room service yes but not cleaning. Had a camper RV, parked in wrong lot apparently, got tagged, was told would be towed if not moved. Registered it with desk, moved to lot described, tagged again for towing. No other RV's in lot were tagged. Just too many irregularities never experienced with hotels before. All employees very easy to talk to, nice personalities but all weren't sure of procedures. Basically uncomfortable stay, won't be back nor recommend.
Our recent stay at the Grand Sierra Resort from July 27–29, 2025, was extremely disappointing and stressful due to circumstances that were made worse by the hotel’s lack of support and communication. During our stay, there was a tragic mass shooting in the GSR parking lot that left three people dead and others injured. As horrifying as that was, our vehicle was held as part of the crime scene for over 24 hours, leaving us effectively stranded at the hotel with our four young children — without access to our car, car seats, or ability to leave safely. We had two rooms booked, and what should have been a fun family getaway turned into a logistical and emotional nightmare. We were forced to stay on property and spend significantly more on food, activities, and other unplanned expenses — all because we were trapped without transportation and received no meaningful support from the hotel. Since returning home, I’ve reached out multiple times — via text, email, and through the hotel’s website — to express our concerns and request a conversation about possible compensation or at least acknowledgment of the situation. As of now, I have received no response at all. The silence and lack of customer care have only added to our frustration and disappointment. While I understand the hotel may not have had control over the crime itself, they did have an opportunity to show empathy, provide basic support, and follow up with guests directly impacted. Sadly, they failed to do that. I’ve always enjoyed GSR in the past, but this experience has deeply affected our view of the resort. At a minimum, I expected communication and care — especially given the severity of what occurred.

We recently stayed at your RV park and are very disappointed. No WiFi, and your WiFi experts had no clue why. We had two little dogs and your RV park was over run with goat head weeds both in the parking areas and in the actual dog runs. VERY DISAPOINTED!
I have GA Floor tickets for Jordan Davis tonight in Grand Sierra theatre avaiable for $75 each. Tickets transfer via Ticketmaster
Very nice clean place great staff
Pop-Up campers not allowed and older RV units must take photos to submit for "approval" to stay at the RV resort. All for aesthetic purposes...Sad, we will just have to go to the KOA.
I was super excited to visit this property for the 1st time. It came highly recommended. The initial booking was fine. When we tried to move the reservation up one day, the person who took the call was very rude and kept trying to reason with I should have never been booked under the promo I was booked under and tried to charge me double. It took several phone calls to get this straightened out. We were placed in the "newly renovated tower". Really? There are stains all over that room, worn down furniture. Peeling wallpaper in the bathrooms, moisture stains, rotten grout. We could not even walk on the carpet without shoes because we stepped on hard plastic clothing tags. Obviously the room had not been vacuumed. There was hair all over the entire bathroom, especially around the sink. Lots of dirt and grime and an empty alcohol bottle left in the bathroom from the people before. I placed my black shirt over a chair and when I went to put it on was covered by really think patches of a hair like substance. The cabinet to the beverage cooler was broke. The headboard pieces were covered with dust. And something that looked bloody on the chair. We watched housekeeping dragging a large decorative pillow that are on the beds down the dirty hallway carpet. When we asked for blankets, tp and water, we were told 45 minutes to which they only brought the blankets. The person delivering thrust them at my husband. When we got the text to see if we received our stuff. We replied that we did not and they stated it would be another 45 minutes. We told them never mind, but they knocked on the door at 2:30am with water and still no tp. Again, the person delivering was not nice to my husband. He said he was very rude and seemed agitated. So were we, it was 2:30am! The only positive thing I will say, is that the staff at the bowling alley were all amazing!
