Very excited to have stumbled upon this unique cuisine here in Reno! I grew up eating Ethiopian food so this experience was nostalgic for me.

I did check the reviews before going so I feel I had good expectations. Yes the food was delicious! Portions appear small but for the flavor and authenticity of the meal, it was worth it. There was also truly only one person working there - the owner. She was taking orders, bussing tables and possibly also making the food? While the wait wasn’t too long considering there were already 3 tables seated before we came in, it would do one well to be a little patient and not go when already extremely hungry (yes I suffer from the h-anger).

Also be prepared to eat with your hands! It’s the cultural way and if you feel the need to practice at home before venturing out in public doing this, go ahead. ;) The food you order is served on a tray on top of injera (which if you run out of the ones they serve with it, you can eat whatever your food is laying on top on). While Ethiopian may not picture well, it’s absolutely delicious!

All in all would definitely go there when our Ethiopian food cravings hit again!

This is the worst ethiopian food I have ever eaten anywhere . The food had no flavor and customer service was 0!!!!! Will never come back again or recommend to anyone!!!

Delicious food. Vegetarian Gebeta was wonderful! So welcoming! The Injera is so fresh, I loved the texture! Such a very good place to have in Reno. So fun to go with friends and share the platter!

The food is good. I got only veggie dishes and they were a little overcooked but still very flavorful. It would be awesome if there was GF injera. Atmosphere is nothing special but the owners are very pleasant and helpful.

This has been my favorite restaurant in the northern Nevada/ Tahoe area for over ten years now. I try to go every time I make the drive to Reno. I came originally as a child with my family but have since had my birthday here and brought all my friends. The food is so delicious and nourishing. The service is fast too! The atmosphere is delightful, clean and cozy. I love everything from the music and art to the absolutely perfect injera. The owner works hard to serve the best most flavorful food around all by herself. I can’t recommend it more.

This restaurant is Ethiopian restaurant with traditional spicy and delicious foods with modest price. Enjoy it!

I used to really like this place - I thought the food compared well with the best of Oakland - but my opinion has gone down. Continued grumpy service as other people describe (although I think it's a crapshoot-she's been friendly when I've been there with particularly gregarious people) - that wouldn't matter so much, but the food wasn't as tasty as I remembered, and the portions are indeed small for the big price. The dining room was a comfortable temperature tonight, but smelled subtly like gas from the stove, which isn't good for anybody. ( She did turn on the stove hood when I brought it up, so that's good.)

I'm grateful that we have an Ethiopian restaurant in Reno, But I don't think I'll take guests/friends there anymore, and I think I'll try to satisfy my cravings when I'm in the Bay Area.

Great little authentic Ethiopian place with tasty good.

I wish they didn't charge for the extra bread and it feels like they've dropped the spice levels just a little for the local audience, but overall I enjoy the food every time I come here and would definitely recommend it

They have many vegan options. I loved the gebeta plate that had a sample of 3 dishes and a salad. It was also gluten free, which is nice too. Updated from previous review on 2024-11-30

Ethiopian food is one of my favorites and the food here was one of the best I have had. This beautiful lady that has been working here, and doing it all by herself, has perfected the food. The portions were plentiful for the costs which were very reasonable. After eating one of the most delightful meals I have in a long time, we read her story on the website and it made the experience here even more wonderful. If theres any wait time, know that its worth it. Thank you, Shita for sharing part of your heritage and incredible meals with us!!

Simply AMAZING food! Go to the website and read the "about" page as the owner's (Shita Yenenh) has a great story. This is authentic as you're ever going to enjoy.
