My family, wife and two daughters have been coming here for about 10 years. We come from California and would stop over on our camping trips to Yellowstone, Wyoming and Montana. Carlillos soon became a regular stop for any business in the eastern sierras. I grew up in San Diego and this is the best Mexican food I’ve had. Not because it’s complex or a fancy restaurant, it just makes you feel at home regardless of where you live or where you came from. Great family, atmosphere and food. I usually get Huevos Rancheros and the family tries something different every time and it’s always good. Girls are in college now but they always ask when are we going back.

Quaint little divey breakfast and lunch counter. This place’s is cool but there’s not many seats so it can be “busy.” I went by myself on a Saturday morning and there were three seats available when I sat. 4-5 Mexican guys are working like busy bees calling out orders, creating platters in a tiny little kitchen prep area. They don’t with ease. The food came out at the expected amount of time. I had the asada breakfast burrito. It came with choice of potatoes or rice and beans. I opted for the latter. Food was tasty and I truly enjoyed the rice and beans. I’m planning on coming back here but will likely try a dish with fried eggs next time. You’ll like this place! Go try it!!

Excellent food. Outstanding guacamole!!! The best we've ever had. The Best Mexican food we've ever eaten. This is an extremely small place. It's run by all men. Everything is cooked fresh right in front of you. Prices are great. We can't wait to return.

I'd give 6 stars if I could.
I may be biased because I just finished one of their amazing meals, and I'm full of endorphins, but this place is the BEST Mexican Food around. You can't go wrong with your order, but I am partial to the Steak and Chorizo Quesadilla. We get Carlillo's for lunch at my work pretty often, and 7 people ordered that quesadilla today! If you can't decide what to get, trust your girl-- get that!
The food is incredible and the staff are kind and prompt. I'm at a loss for words, just... you should really try this place. Its got that lunch-counter vibe that I really like. Like, you'll sit next to someone you've never met, but make a friend over a fantastic meal. When it all boils down, no matter our differences, we are all just people who love damn good Mexican Food. I think we should all remember this. I think if Congress each had a Steak and Chorizo Quesadilla from Carlillo's Cocina, America-- even the world-- would be a more peaceful place. Hyperbole aside, eat here!
