This is probably the best and closest mexican/Salvadoran food compared to California. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in Sparks and Reno, and I have to say this place has to be my to go spot for mexican food. Small shop owned by mom and pop making the food is always the best, my opinion.
Handmade tortillas and homemade salsa—and the queso de mano looks like it might be house made as well! Great prices for hearty, simple food made with care.
Terrible customer service!
Waiter was clearly not happy with his job!
Yummy food!!
Very good menudo. They will serve it with the pata if you ask.
The menudo does not have hominy, so it is a really nice Keto meal.
Obviously the tortillas are not Keto, but they are delicious Salvadoran style tortillas.
I can say that the food is good. I didn't order pupusas, just a typical Salvadoran breakfast. There is no service, since you order and pay and they just bring you the food and forget about the customer. No one ever came to ask if everything is okay, if they need more coffee or whatever. I don't think I'll be back.
The food was okay, but 40 min wait for popusas not okay.

I liked some items but not others. Like the huarache was fire but the chicharon pupusa was alil on the harder side and tasted a little old. They are also smaller than other pupusas I've had in the past. My boyfriend however did not like any of it, but the huarache as well. The sope was alright I guess.

Delicious! I've driven by this place hundreds of times and today finally stopped in and got some pupusas. It was delicious and very fair priced. Lovely little place that is locally owned and operated by a beautiful family. We will definitely return soon.
Kid-friendliness: Family owned and operated. 10/10 recommend.

If you want Salvadoran food (dishes) with Mexican food flavor, El Pulgarcito is the place for you.But if you want to try Salvadoran food (dishes) this is NOT the place.Pupusas with cheese taste like Mexican quesadillas. The cheese they use is the same one they use for quesadillas.Marriage looks like mashed beans and rice. It looks and tastes like the beans they put in burritos. The flavor of Salvadoran dishes has the flavor of Mexican food.Perhaps the only good thing I saw in the food is that the pupusas are not greasy. But the flavor or seasoning of Salvadoran food is not Salvadoran. It is my observation of this place that is called “The Little Thumb”.
