Was visiting Reno and decided to check this family owned spot out, the first red flag is when I heard a microwave going off in the back. Food was mid at best Mac n cheese looked like Kraft, collard greens no seasonings and the yams were prolly the best thing. Catfish and alligator were overly salty and very small portions for the $40 that I paid. Hopefully it was a off day

Found this hidden gem out a of a whim and it did miss at all! We ordered the BBQ Ribs Dinner, Oxtail, Liver, Chicken & Waffles, and fried fish and fries! All were very delicious especially the OXTAIL with the sides of collard greens and yams! Will most definitely comeback and try the chitlins! Definitely worth the wait!

I'm visiting from Sonoma. Everyone in Sparks should ingredients be going to this place. Freaking epic, I go to try the catfish, hush puppies, the baced beans, red beans and rice, and the pulled pork Everyting was super tasty. This is one of those places of perfection. They should be charging more than they are for this quality.

I had this delivered. As before, I ordered the fried snapper, Mac& cheese, collards and cornbread. All I can say is AMAZING. This is my go to restaurant when I don't cook my own food. Perfect..

My friend and I had lunch here last week. We had a very friendly and attentive waitress. The owner came out and checked in on everyone. My friend had jambalaya while I had the oyster basket, along with a jar of Kool Aid. The food was excellent and arrived in a relatively short time. For dessert we had Beignets with syrup which were delicate and rich. So good!

I absolutely love finding hidden gems while I'm traveling this country, but I was not prepared for M&M's Southern Cafe today!

I'm from Utah, so I wasn't raised with that delicious southern soul food that I heard so much about from banned books and movies in our quaint little bubble state. That's a good chunk of my motivation for hunting down local flavors and cuisines.

I like to check out Google too see what people are saying. Well, I saw this place has a pretty good rating, so when I saw the crazy bad review on here, it piqued my curiosity to the max!

Came here for lunch while we were setting up for the EnduroCross event this weekend at the Livestock Center and ordered the Gator Sticks that came with some hush puppies & I got the collards for the side, OOOOOOOH WEE!

Also got a huge sweet tea and a sweet potato pie that were quite yummy!

The staff were super nice, friendly people, we only waited like 3 minutes for a table on the backside of lunch hour, and I highly encourage you to come check this place out and show em some love!

Absolutely outstanding service and even better food. A real gem to discover. Converted my dad, who works in the restaurant industry and regularly gets fed by top chefs.

I have had better ! Something was missing. For example i had the meatloaf and ribs. The meatloaf needs some spice and it was shaped like a hamburger patty instead of a loaf. I wasnt impressed. The ribs had no smokey flavor from the grill. There is a grill parked in front of the business. J wonder if its just for decoration.
This place has potential but its not hitting yet! Sorry

If you are looking for authentic down home New Orleans and Southern cooking this is it. Service is friendly - feels like a small town cafe. I love the gumbo - chock full of seafood and sausage - but everything is great! We tried the fried okra and hush puppies as appetizers. Yes ma'am!
