The changes to the menu were a little disappointing. The shrimp scampi was decent, although it could have used a little more of the scampi sauce. The bread and the soups were tasty.

Had to wait to be seated was seated at dirty table waitress gave wrong order twice place was packed food was mediocre at best. Price was outrageous for a pan roast with limited seafood and a salad and when I asked if bread came with salad I was told I would have enough to eat without it. Price was over 100$- used to be a great spot - will never go back

Exceptionally good Gumbo. Was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Good value for the food.

The Oyster Bar at the Nugget never disappoints. The Lobster Carbonara was fabulous! Our server, Yeny, was delightful.

We ordered the Seared Tuna Salad and the Seafood Diablo. The salad was drenched in dressing with semi-wilted lettuce, the tuna was unseasoned, and the pickled cucumber they garnished it with was slimy and overpowering. The Seafood Diablo, in my opinion, lacked heat and was poorly seasoned. I would in no way describe the dish as spicy, nevertheless, "Diablo". The ambiance was quaint but dated, not maintained, or loved. The hostess was curt, didn't greet us, and just demanded to know how many people were in our party, then took us to our table. We ended up not eating even 1/4 of our meals. For us, it was a disappointment. The restaurant made me sad.

This was our second time in the last year eating at the Nugget Oyster Bar. Both times, it was very busy, and the first time we chalked the poor service and bad food quality up to it being a holiday weekend. We decided to give it another try because we had a $70 off coupon. We had reservations at 5:30 pm as we were attending a concert there starting at 7:00 pm. They brought bread and butter to the table, but no utensils or napkins. It took 45 minutes to get the house salads we ordered to eat before the main meal. The lettuce was definitely old, and there was one slice of cucumber and 2 small black olives on it. It was over an hour before we received our dinner. I had ordered fish tacos, and they were cold. The tortillas were so cold they felt like they came out of the refrigerator. I complained to the waitress, and she brought the manager over. Would have given them time to correct the meal, but we now had 15 minutes to get to our concert, so the manager took my meal off of our bill, and I left without eating dinner. Waitress was definitely doing her best but was overworked. I ordered a vodka drink without specifying a brand of vodka, expecting well vodka. On the bill, it showed I ordered Kettle One, a more expensive vodka, and it was a $15 drink. My husband had linguini and clams, and it was not very good either, but at least he got to eat something.

We had a 6:45 reservation for Father's Day. We were seated with no issue. Our waitress on the otherhand was the issue. She seemed to have no memory of what she should be doing. We waited 20 min for water, asked 3 times for our ice tea and soda....finally had to point out that the non acholic drink order was probably not going to be coming from the bar. Our appetizer came and the waitress was so pleased with herself when she delivered it....too bad we had to ask for the bread that should have arrived at the table 30 minutes earlier. Needless to say after 75 minutes our food had still not arrived, our water glasses were empty and my family was done with the waitress. We paid for the appetizer and left. Such a disappointment.

The menu has changed and there are less options now. Our food was not good, service was slow and my wine was sour. I used to love this place but it has really declined on food quality and service.

Always the best service!! Wait staff are on top of it. Shannon is awesome at what she does.

The oysters were fresh and quite good. Otherwise mediocre at best. Biggest complaint is that restaurant doesn't have sufficient AC on warm days and is open to the casino, so you get the smell/taste of cigarette smoke while you are eating. No oyster forks, oysters are not properly shucked, no placemats, no bread plates, table becomes a mess of crumbs/water rings. Wouldn't return.

Fish and chips was very good - tuna melt was dry and a very small cup of soggy coleslaw was disappointing

Man oh man. I'll try to be nice. The waitress is nice and friendly. The food took 40 mins to arrive I got the seared ahi and it was cooked to death. The salad was drenched. The pasta lobster carbonara was great. The fish chips were great The oysters were great. The calamari was stale

One employee was VERY VERY RUDE. We were seated right next to the servers station. One of the servers BADLY NEEDS training on customer service. After waiting our food for 30 minutes we wanted to follow up on our food, although she was not our server, since she was the one at the servers' station, we tried to get her attention by waving at her and said hello loud enough for her to hear us. She turned around look at us and gave us a blank look like "don't bother me" then walked away. SO SO SO RUDE.

When dining in a gambling town (I.E., Reno, Las Vegas, etc.) you usually can't expect good service. This establishment could be four or five stars but choose not to be. Although, we had prime time reservations and the restaurant wasn't half full, we still had to wait about 10 mins for a table. Our drink order was taken in a timely fashion. My martini was served without spillage, cold and well prepared. More and more restaurants are rushing their customers. I ordered oysters on the half shell which were nicely presented and with good flavor. I wasn't half finished with my oysters when the server brought our main course. She expected me to move my plate of oysters to make room for my entree. I flatly told my server, I wasn't ready for my main course, which of course elicited a dirty look from her. This is a gutsy move because you are setting yourself up for someone toying with your food, your plate being baked under a sunlamp while waiting to be served and or served when the server is good and ready. These kind of establishments dictate the pace of delivery and if you interrupt them, you the customer, will often pay the price. As expected, after finishing my oysters, she made me wait until the others in our party were near finished with their entree. When my entree was delivered, she neglected to take away the oyster plate. The server never asked if I wanted another drink. Usually, at this point, I give up on the server. I won't reward the establishment by ordering another drink or desert (This is where most earn their profits). My fish taco's were plentiful, fresh, and well made. The food here is very good with the service being borderline poor. Waiters and Waitresses: The value of your tip depends on the value of your service. More often than not, despite the fact the food may be good, if the service is bad, I won't return.
