All of their breakfast food that we had was great and a ton of food for the money. Service was friendly and great options for kids.

We were traveling today because I had to take a test. My wife took one car and I took the other. She walked in with 4 kids and I came shortly after because I had to park the dodge ram. Long story short my wife asked 4x in 45minutes for a server. I had to leave because I forgot my passport and needed to take my CPA exam . I came back and they hadn't ordered, gotten coffee, or not one server had been to the table. Apparently no one wanted to take her table because she had kids. The servers were fighting over who wasn't going to serve her. I walked up and in 2 minutes a server came up. I gets servers don't want to take tables with kids but to do that and treat kids like this the server should not be employed. The blonde server who's section we were in refused to take our table. At the end of the day my wife left $100 tip on a $40 meal and told the server don't judge a book by it's cover. The server brought my food to me as I was leaving to my test. We drove 4hours from out of town to be in Reno today.

I am from New Jersey The diner capital of United States. Being new to Nevada and finding a Dyna like this makes me feel like a piece of home

So the food is good .... The service isn't that great, pretty slow actually and understaffed. Pricing is much higher than it should be. We use to come here often, but there's better places with better pricing within close proximity. Only thing keeping this place in business is weekends and the truck stop across the street

My bf and I ate here, when the waitress brought out our breakfast mine was piping hot my boyfriend was barely warm. Like it had been sitting for awhile.
I wanted to say something but he didn't want me to.
If it was my meal I would have complained. I hate when you go out to eat and you pay almost 20.00 a meal (breakfast and a drink)
And you don't even enjoy it. 😞

I have been at many Black Bear Diners in Nevada, Northern California and Oregon. Out of all the black bear diners I have been to, this one in Sparks Nevada has to have the worst service ever. Last time I was here, it took about an hour and a half to get a seat, get served and to finally get our check to go. Today it had been about 20 minutes waiting to be seated for two waitresses that were just standing around talking behind the counter to come and seat us. (Strangely, one waitress said she couldn't seat us even though she was not very busy. There must be some type of division of duties that is extremely inefficient.) But we were never seated, and we finally left. I'm so sorry to say that I probably won't be visiting this Black Bear diner again. I really hate giving bad reviews because generally I know the owners work really hard to have a good business. But this one has horrible representation with these servers.

I'd have to say that the Black Bear Diner in Sparks, Nv. has been the Best we've been to. Everything we've ever had from B.B.D. has been consistantly quality, great tasting and served quickly by a person who cares about our dining experience. We do only go out to eat for Special occasions and B.B.D. makes it a Special memory every time. If you're passing through the Reno/Sparks area on Hwy 80 it's only 1 short block off the Hwy....you wont be disappointed. Whether you're alone or have the whole family...everyone will have a full belly and a great time.
