We have all heard the expression: "First impression don't count". I suppose I will have to go back again and have more tacos. I drive by El Taconazo at least 2 times a week. I was early for an appointment close by and I decided to stop and have a small meal. Lucky me! I had two barbacoa tacos and one lengua taco. Folks I am not kidding these are the real deal. These were some of the best tacos I have had in the Truckee meadows. Forget the ambiance, it is neo non-descript with a few tables and a drive-thru. Very well prepared tacos with lots of meat filling, onions and cilantro. Tacos are priced beginning at $1.99 My soft drink was more expensive than any of my tacos. I will have to give it another try and if you like tacos do not pass El Taconazo up.

This place is "ok" BUT I DON'T RECOMMEND IT/This place is fine BUT I DON'T RECOMMEND IT.I ordered a Carnitas burrito with cueritos, and in my order I saw that they made me an EXTRA-CHARGE for requesting that they put cueritos and for the sauce that I bathed the burrito in because I ordered in Wet Burrito, that is not my complaint because in several places they make an extra charge for ordering 2 meats, MY SURPRISE WAS WHEN I STARTED TO EAT MY DONKEY, I DISCOVERED THAT IT CAME MORE INCHE LETTUCE THAN MEAT!!!!!!!*****THIS IS A SCAM PEOPLE*****

Excellent food, their tacos and burritos are unique, the attention that the front-of-house staff gave me was excellent, both eating in the restaurant and in the drivethru!
The best in the area! Their chorizo and Buche are not to be missed. My favorite. The burritos are tasty. Haven't tried the soups, I can't get passed the buche and chorizo.

It's been a love/hate kinda thing for me with Taconazo. The overall quality and consistency of product changes each time I come here. The salsas are either OK or scorching. I know, I'm a gringo. The last time I came for takeout, I ended up short 1/3 of my order! I ordered 12 tacos, and came home with 8. The crappy part is it was my teen son's entire meal I was missing! If it was mine, I would have suffered thru it, but when it's your kid's dinner...well. I tried calling but the phone just rang, and rang...and rang...rang. Super pet peeve here! Answer the phone. The sweet young lady at the cashier made it right when I arrived, but by then it was 2 round trips and about 30 minutes of driving. Then, I see the 1 of the guys in the kitchen eating a taco with gloves on!!! GROSS!!! My kid had to wait an extra 30 min to eat, but he'll risk contaminating guests' food so he can eat on the line?!?!
