The Mexican food was not good. I wanted the pozole but they ran out so I ordered nachos and my bf ordered a burrito. The margarita was amazing! I was able to eat my food after getting a buzz πŸ˜†The atmosphere was great too. I think the restaurant should focus on a simple street taco that’s delicious because maybe it was too complicated.

Food really wasn't very good. The wait staff was very good. It was cold inside the resturant, we were looking to get warm. Eating with jackets and hats on was no fun.

They have done such a great job of renovating to reopen the Bonanza. Awesome people, great food, great drinks, and fantastic atmosphere.

The Mexican food cantina at the bonanza is nothing to write home about. Flavor wise is ok, and the portions are ok. The staff was nonchalantly rude, which is surprising, especially considering VC is a tourist town. The location is nothing special either, just an 'old-wooden building' passing for an old western saloon - we sat out on the deck, which is slanted and doesn't give you much confidence regarding its stability. The view is meh too. First and last time I make the drive out there...

I cannot stress enough how terrible the food is here. It is inedible. For $95 I took 2 bites. Do not waste your money.

Mediocre Mexican food. Not the best not the worse 4/10. Salsa was the only good thing.

The food has no flavor. Should be ashamed to call yourself a restaurant.

Amazing food! You MUST try the salsa verde! Had vegan options for my wife! (They did veggie tacos with beans and rice for her which aren't listed on the menu, but they were super accommodating)

I got the California burrito which was amazing Mexican-American fusion

Beautiful mountain view outside with a free tower viewer!

Came on a Sunday as I was exploring Virginia city. Great Bloody Mary and a good view from the bar.

Different than what I’m used to and I’m picky. I like that the food seems homemade. Ordered the Torta two days in a row. It was good! Second time I ordered no peppers, even though it was good I can’t handle anything spicy. I added avocado. I like the Pork a little more than the beef. Might try the chicken today.

I've had better and I've had worse. I personally got the eggs. I'm going to say the hot sauce may be helpful here. I rated the atmosphere as one star because it creeped me out that the Virginia City hanging tree is right around the corner. My overall recommendation is to bypass the sun down town altogether and find a great option in Reno. Happy trails!
