This is clearly one of the best restaurants in the Capital District. The food was excellent and the service was professional and friendly. The Porterhouse for two was done perfectly and was tender and delicious. The octopus and the crème brûlée were also superb. The entire experience was a treat.
I love 677 Prime, and have had great meals there before -- however, as I don't eat meat, except fish, the menu is limited -- and while in the past the fish was cooked beautifully, this time it was overcooked to cardboard. The so-called blackened mahi that I had was slightly blackened on the skin, not cooked as a blackened fish usually is. Guess I will have to find a new place with the incredible ambience and service of 677, but where the chef knows how to cook fish.
Would definitely return, but portion size seem to be down from what I recall from past visits to high-end steakhouses. Not that we left starving, but we usually have leftovers for several days. Tha absence of a porterhouse for a single diner is a shame. Our creamed spinach was really just a soggy collection of spinach with cream added. Not what we expected. Our server, Alejandro, was awesome. He needs a promotion!
