The food and service at Athos never disappoint. Verdat and his team do everything possible to ensure diners are enjoying their food and experience at their establishment. Last night, they made a point of recognizing my 100th visit to Athos, and it was very appreciated. The team has done a great job extending the legacy of Athos.

Simply the best restaurant in Albany and offers tons of gluten free options, including gf pita bread.

I ordered beef souvlaki and my husband lamb souvlaki. It was perfectly cooked. The portion is good for the price. No wonder they are vited one of the best in Albany.

One of us got the wrong dinner, but no one came out to ask how everything was. We all would have liked more pita and more drinks but again no one came outside and asked us if we needed anything.

exceptional at every turn. Food was amazing, service was amazing, atmosphere was enchanting. Headed back for sure on my next trip to the area.

It started with the service. A long wait to be recognized and the hospitality was forced .Friendly but forced and not genuine. I had the Lamb Kabobs and my friend had the Branzinni. Both were totally over cooked. My over done lamb was dry and only eaten because I was hungry. My friend had the same experience with his fish although the sauce was good. I'm sure they try hard but I doubt that any locals would go there more than once. It just isn't that kind of place and Albany is not a turist destination so they need to work on the food and hospitality.

Its a shame. Chef Mike is at work in the kitchen. Alot. The young staff does not know how to properly serve and attend tables. The food and drink feels like the decor; dated. The prices are outrageous for the quality of food. Skip anything with lamb. The chops are weirdly cut (entree). They look like meaty hunks. End up being mostly bone with under seasoned meat. The lamb shank visited chef Mike. Poorly seasoned. Almost tasted of nothing. 100% soux vide product. Doubtful it was made in house. This place is set up for catering en masse. Not fine dining. It will remind you of that crappy third cousin wedding. Bonus points for the canned stuffed grape leaves. Add a wedge of lemon on top. There ya go! Gourmet!

The food, atmosphere and ambiance is wonderful and always is when I dine here. This time I was dining with a gluten free friend. When I made the reservation on Open Table I indicated as much. We also informed our server when she approached the table. However, when another server brought us the pita bread and tomato/red pepper dip came he only brought regular pita bread - none for my gluten free dining friend. We were informed that it would take 5-6 minutes to get that to the table. As a result when it came we could proceed but then our meal came out right on top of the gf pita arriving. Please be more mindful of this and possibly communicate more specifically with the other servers who would be working a party with food issues. One other thing regarding dessert, the rice pudding was very plain without much flavor and seemingly the rice was mushy. I ordered the baklava and was a bit disappointed because it was not crisp and had some kind of liquid sauce that made it worse for any crispness. These issues were a bit unusual from other times I have dined at Athos.

While visiting Albany on a work trip, several local staff members highly recommended Athos—and they did not steer us wrong! A group of 14 of us decided to give it a try, and we were all incredibly impressed. The atmosphere was beautiful, with elegant decor that immediately set the tone for a great evening. Our server, Ekin, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly for such a large party. The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was a hit. From start to finish, it was a fantastic dining experience filled with great food, great service, and a lot of laughter. Highly recommend!

Very good upscale authentic Greek restaurant with a nice selection of Greek wines (as well as Italian, American, Spanish, etc.). One of the better restaurants in the Capitol area.

I don’t eat much Greek food, but I went with family and I tried something that I have never had before. I got the Grekolimano and it turned out to be REALLY good. My family split a Greek salad and that was most definitely one of the best salads I’ve had in over 2 years. The service was good as well, and I often don’t pay much attention to the service, so overall, it was a great experience

The food is always so good & portions are generous. They have a wide variety of options for both food and drinks. I love the salmon scaloppini and my family is a big fan of the seafood pasta! The service isn’t the fastest but the staff is very kind

Amazing cocktails and the best fish I've ever had. The lemon potatoes were brilliant. Owner Oliver took a few minutes to stop by our table to introduce himself and check in with us to make sure we were enjoying our dinner. I wish we lived closer as we were in town for a show. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing food and cocktails. We sat in the bar area, and I would suggest that if you're dressed more casual and the dining room for a heightened experience.

Loved loved loved the food! Wish I took pictures, but the food was too good. Ekin was an amazing server, such a joyous person and gave excellent recommendations.
