Staff and atmosphere were great. Cocktails, starters were also good. We ordered medium rare filter mignon and it was very dry. Also got a side of blue crab, which was served warm.
One of the better Restaurants in the Albany, NY area we have been here before and we always had great service and food. Restaurant is really nice inside as well
We have eaten at all five B&B's now and none of them ever disappoint! B&B is our favorite steakhouse bar none!
This was the first time at Black & Blue Steak and Crab - Albany and consider it a done situation. I ended up sat in a corner with limited view of the restaurant. Basically, I got to watch servers come and go to the kitchen. However, I was with great company, so the conversation helped to minimize the view. The steak was great. Pricy, but great. The rest of the order, not so much. The other items were either under cooked (apples that come with meal), overcooked (the pork), or extremely over cooked (Hash browns were burnt). I am actually surprised they even made it to the table. I was hoping the obvious black potatoes were just seasoned oddly, but when I tasted them...they were just burnt! I was halfway through my steak before anyone checked back on us, so I had to stare at those ugly burnt potatoes. Very disappointing. The steak was good...but pricy.
Everything was delicious! We went for our anniversary and they made it special with a card and free dessert too! Service was great and attentive. Will definitely be back- perfect place for a special occasion!
Ordered drinks when seated 2 beers and waters. That's all we were given in the 1 1/2 hours we were there. Mashed potatoes were room temperature. Table bread was cold. 98.00 for three pieces of crab with no sides. Service was very poor. Spent over 200.00 and left hungry.
Lovely meal. Was given a quiet table. Well, at least it was as quiet as that place can be since it is a very loud environment. Was disappointed in the condition of the restroom. Rusty vent. pour caulking. Although the sinks in the bathroom were in good condition, the stalls were quite rundown and needed a lot of work. This restroom was definitely not in keeping with the upscale environment and pricing of the restaurant. I would suggest the establishment improve these.
Love this place - anytime I am in Albany I try to get there. Combo of an upscale fine-dining Steak House (especially the service) in a very casual setting. I have never had a bad meal here - that said, stay with the traditional entrees and sides
My husband and I went here for our anniversary this week. We started with the Ceasar salad and honestly it was very bland. My husband did love the crab and lobster fondue. There's quite a bit of meat in it. We both got steak and we weren't impressed. The steaks came out on sizzle platters despite being ordered medium rare which doesn't make sense to me because then it is continuing to cook past medium rare where we want it. It was also served on the platter by itself. No garnish or anything. It just looked so boring. For the price that we paid there should be something on the plate to dress it up a little. For sides I ordered the Brussel Sprouts and they came back completely brown. I couldn't even tell they were brussel sprouts at first. I also ordered the cauliflower gratin which I was so excited for. I was expecting creamy cheesy cauliflower and instead the cheese was broiled on top and overall was much crunchier than I was expecting. My husband ordered the mushrooms and had to ask the waiter for them again, which he acted like he hadn't originally ordered them but brought them out quickly. We ordered dessert as well and I ordered an espresso martini to go with mine. It never came out and I was disappointed. Overall the taste of the food was okay, but nothing was a WOW. The Service was definitely lacking though. Disappointing for the price overall.
We had a beautiful anniversary dinner. The restaurant was so warm and inviting. Our waiter was great. I ordered the halibut special and it was delicious. My husband's steak was cooked to his liking. The special chocolate cake was such a nice touch. We made our weekend a getaway and this dinner made it very special for us. Also, the bartender was so kind as to remix my cocktail to remove the cranberry juice. This restaurant will always be on the list as a “must-go” each trip up to the entire Catskill area.

Great restaurant! Atmosphere was welcoming, food was delicious and drinks were adequate and didn't seem weak like at some restaurants. Will definitely stop in next time we are having a date night in Albany! The fondue was delicious and we both stuck with seafood this time but will definitely be getting thier aged streaks next time they looked succulent!
Simply wonderful! We're so glad that we visited. The food was delicious. We'll definitely be telling our friends and family. Can't wait to head back.
We visited for a birthday dinner. The meal for four cost more than my monthly car payment, but it was exactly the type of experience I was looking for. The space is beautiful, the service was attentive, and the seafood tower, entrees, and dessert were special and delicious. Thanks for helping us celebrate in style!
Neil and Kyle took excellent care of us and were attentive without being intrusive. Neil got my child another truffle after he saw that she ate mine along with her own. Food was top notch as per all of our other experiences.
Attentive wait staff and wonderful meal. Really enjoyed our birthday celebration and complementary cake along with superb espresso martinis!
