My first time dealing with This restaurant and my wife and I are impressed. We purchased their meals for four to take home for a birthday celebration.The Chicken and eggplant Parm are delicious with generous portions and more than generous sides. The cost is extremely affordable compared to other Italian places in the area.The staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable.We are looking forward to returning soon to dine in-house and will provide updates.

I've been a customer for many years, and it's because of the consistent high quality of the food and lovely family that runs the restaurant. Everything from their bread to salad dressing is incredibly fresh and homemade. I'm also obsessed with their red sauce, which is some of the best in the Capital Region, in my opinion. I rarely deviate from the Chicken Parm, which is a classic they do right. It also two large pieces of chicken, so you'll likely get several meals out of it. Their side of pasta is also a great sized portion. If you like cheesecake, definitely order the Pineapple Cheesecake - it's homemade and unbelievable! Also, since they've reopened as Cafe Calabria II, they've added a large bar and drink menu, which features specialty cocktails in addition to their wine selection. If you haven't been, make reservations and get your stretchy pants ready!

In town for business and will be coming to Albany from NC for the next three years or more for a project. Started looking for Italian, not a chain but a locally owned, family restaurant. Found Cafe Calabria. Saundra the owner was behind the bar and very nice to everyone. I ordered the Veal Bruschetta and Clams in White Sauce. Very good!! I learned to ask, if it's not on the menu, They will accommodate off menu requests. Everyone local or visiting try this great place, a local gem! I will be back next week.

Best eggplant parm I've ever eaten and I'm nearly 70 yes old ! Service was very slow, but food was worth the wait. We live over an hour away, but we will definitely return.

Delicious generous old style Italian! I had the eggplant parmigiana and it’s enough for 2 people to split. It was so delicious I brought half home to enjoy again. Service was exceptional, warm and welcoming. We are Italian and very partial about our sauce this tasted just like ours at home!
Service was efficient. The food was slow to show up and was dreadful! Now this is coming from an actual Italian so call me a little biased but if you want good Italian food try Cannali's in Rotterdam. If you want great Italian food, find a Italian friend who actually still cooks these days (so sad)!

We had a meal last night and it was spectacular! The sauce was not too heavy. I have a lot of food restrictions. Sometimes when I go to a restaurant they make the meal so heavy that it is not digestible. The meal you made for me was fantastic! Thank you so much!!!

Absolutely amazing our first time here. Authentic Italian cuisine like no other place we've been. The Chicken Piccata and lasagna moist and bursting with flavor, the meatballs, rolotini so moist and the ricotta wow...brings me back to Sunday dinner when I was a child. And the the staff very friendly and accommodating, thank you Lisa....lastly the chocolate cake.....omg! Silky smooth..thank you Alissa & Gennaro

I’ve been here a few times so far in the last cpl weeks. I love the new bar and the cocktails have been wonderful! The staff are warm and welcoming and knowledgeable! The chef is accommodating and delightful! I loved the shrimp scampi. You can’t go wrong with the house filled cannolis and an espresso martini for desert.
The food was delicious, the service was kind, the atmosphere was nice, and the bathroom was warm and toasty! I'll definitely return and bring others with me!Parking: You can use the bordering parking lot at Short and Stout.
